Happy Sunday Dare 2B Artzy Friends!!

We have one last post from Guest Designer Theresa!

We’ve really enjoyed having her GDT with us this month!!  THANKS!!!

Hello & Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!
I’m back as Guest Designer for
Dare 2B Artzy during the month of January!

This is my Last Post (inserting SAD FACE)
I have totally enjoyed my time here and can’t THANK
Everyone at Dare 2B Artzy Enough for having me
be apart of their team this month!!
Now, Let’s see what I made this week —
Isn’t this just the Cutest??? OMGOSH! I LOVE this
I started out by using some 110lb White Cardstock – then I Die cut a piece
of Neenah Silver Metallic Cardstock with a Postage Frame Die
I found some Stitched Slope dies in my stash & die cut them out
to create 3 different layers — Then I pulled out a Background design
I made using the Baby Wipe Method –
I adhered the white snow slopes to my Background design
then I used a Rectangle Stitched die to trim it down
the final size was 3 1/4 x 4 1/2
Here’s a close-up, so you can see this sweet Penguin riding on his sled
and I think the sentiment says it all! He looks like he’s just having a ball!!
I stamped all the images on some KOH-I-NOOR Bristol
Smooth White Watercolor paper – Then colored them
with my Zig Real Brush Pens – I added some Clear
Wink of Stella to the Hat & Scarf
I adhered the Sled to the slope and then used some
Dimension to POP up my Penguin over the sled —
The Sentiment was made by using 2 circle dies
to help give it that curved look – then I just
fishtailed the ends to give it a banner design —
I popped the sentiment up as well and now
my card is ready to mail off!
Thanks so much for joining me this month!

Hi!  It’s Melody from Handmade Card Happiness and Instagram!

Happy Monday!
Thanks again to all of the U.S. Veterans.  I hope you had a wonderful weekend filled with gratitude for your service!

We are starting the week off here in Ohio with temperatures that I am sure would make this penguin feel right at home!  The high is predicted to be 43 degrees, but the sun is supposed to shine!

It was hard to decide which penguin to use in today’s project as there are so many cute penguins in the Dare 2B Artzy Penguin Fun set!  After stamping this cutie with Totally Black ink, I colored him with the following Copic markers: (R14, R37, R89), (Y02, Y17, YR16), (YG03, YG17, YG99), (B00, BG57, BG09), and (BV00, BV04, BV08).  Accents were added with Wink of Stella, Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops, and Sakura Glaze Pens.

After die cutting the penguin images with the coordinating dies, I cut the Holiday Damask paper with a stitched rectangle die from the Leaf Background Die.  The penguin was mounted to the card with an Action Wobbler.  I tried (emphasis on tried!) to take a video holding the phone in my left hand while trying to make the penguin slip on the ice.  As you will see in the video clip below, I am in desperate need of a tripod!!!

You might be the lucky winner of a Dare 2B Artzy stamp set and ink pad of your choice!

Happy stamping!

Hello Dare 2B Artzy Friends

It is Pam on the blog today!  I hope you have started your Christmas cards!  I have and it just seems that my list just keeps getting longer.  I love making my cards but I am very picky about who gets them!  Here is my most recent creation and it is going to my little nephew!

Design Steps:

  1. Start with an A2 card base then cut a piece of Dare 2B Artzy designer paper and craft foam 4 x 5 1/4.  Next cut the 2 pieces with a circle die positioned as shown
  2. Tape a piece of acetate behind the DP and then glue the foam to the DP
  3. Fill the well made with the foam on the back of the DP with sequins
  4. Cut a piece of white card stock 4 x 5 1/4 and sponge it with purple and blue ink to create the background for the opening
  5. Glue the sponged background to the craft foam
  6. Add the ribbon then glue to the card base
  7. Stamp the penguin using the Dare 2B Artzy Penguin Fun. Color with Copic markers: Y35, 38 – YR04, V01, 04, 06 – C0.  Stamp the ice pad and sentiment
  8. Use the coordinating dies to cut out the penguin and ice pad.  Layer the sentiment onto purple card stock
  9. Pop dot the penguin and sentiment to the front of the card

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
I’ve been on a kick lately of using stamps in non-traditional ways.  That’s what I did for my card today.  I used the Be There or Be Square stamps for this Christmas Card.
I used Copic YG61 and YG63 for the leaves, colored the flowers with R24, R27 and R29, and filled in the background with B00.  I stamped the flower square twice, and then fussy cut the three flowers to use as embellishments.  The “blank” square was perfect for the sentiment that I got from the Penguin Fun stamps.  The paper is from the Holly Days Paper Collection.
Here’s a close-up of those FuN flowers.  As you can see, I curled the edges a bit with my finger.

Christmas is ONLY about 4-1/2 months away!  Crazy, huh?  Have you started making cards yet?  If not, check out the Seasonal Stamps at Dare 2B Artzy.  I’m sure you will LoVe them!  I used the Penguin Fun set for today’s card:
This simple card was so easy to make.  I added a little color with my Copic markers and framed up the image with some die cuts and added a wide lace and some sequence.  This would be an easy and fun card to make multiples of.  Since I send out over 100 cards annually, multiples are good!
Here’s a close-up of that adorable penguin showing the simple dimension I added with a little pop tape:

Please help us give a warm welcome to this month’s Guest Designer…

Hi there!  I’m Kelly, married to my high school sweetheart, mommy to 4 fabulous kids and two hilarious dogs.  We live in tropical South Florida and I LOVE the beach!  We’re blessed to live so close to it where I can feel the crisp, salty air and the sand in my toes, collect shells and build sandcastles …. hence, the name of my blog: Sandcastlestamper

I’ve been crafting since I was a young teenager, scrapbooking and preserving our special memories.  I started card making almost full time after being invited to a home stamping party about 10 years ago and was instantly hooked.   Bright, vivid colors and lots of layers tend to catch my eye and grace many of my cards and projects.  My creative outlet is inspired mostly right here in our city, one filled with an eclectic style, a  rainbow of colors and nature to pull inspiration from – like a canvas painting come to life!

I’m very excited to be the guest Designer for Dare 2B Artzy for the month of March!  I look forward to crafting with you all!

I know most of you had a little bit of warmer weather – and now this weekend a little more snow!

Even in March, there is snow much fun to be had ♥

One of the stamp sets I chose to work with is Penguin Fun!

For my playful artic penguin scene, I stamped out 2 of the penguins, the sled, and the Christmas tree!!  I stamped the images in Dare 2B Artzy’s Premium black ink …so crisp and clean!  While I did fussy cut my images, there is a wonderful matching die set.

I colored them with my prismacolor markers (which are alcohol dye based inks – and look at how wonderful it colored and blended!)

I added a few layers of paper for snow banks and background, a few enamel dots and propped up the penguins with 3d foam tape.

Here is Penguin Arctic Fun:

For the inside of my card, I left the image uncolored and added another sentiment from the set.  A few more enamel dots and this penguin’s winter fun card is finished!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Big hugs, bigger blessings!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!

Kendra here from Luv 2 Scrap N Make Cards to share a fun card with you!!

Today I am going to share how to create a fun spinner card!

I started by coloring in two of the same penguin images from the adorable fun Penguin Fun stamp set!!  Now by all means you can use different images and even color the images differently!!  It so happens I was multitasking at the time at a retreat with some girlfriends and really wasn’t thinking and colored them the same!  Which is fine!  But it would have been fun to change them up a little!

But anyway….after coloring them with my Copics I die cut them with the matching Penguin Dies!

So next I created my card base as well as the layers I wanted to use for the front of my card.  I used white cardstock for my card base, a piece of red for my bottom layer and then a piece of beautiful Winter Plaid!

You are then ready to die cut your circle.  You can first run your layers through if you like so you can see where the circle is going to sit, then set the layers on your card base and set the die back inside and lightly trace the inner part of the circle.  Remove and place the circle die only on that half of the card and run it through your die cutting machine again.

But if it isn’t too think, which in my case it wasn’t, you can run it through all together.

The take a smaller circle from the same die set or another one and die cut it two times.

Lay one face down and add string along the back, then add adhesive or pop-dots.  I decided to used pop-dots!

Then place the other circle on top!  Now you have your spinner portion done!!

Cut your string! Put aside for a few seconds.

Flip your card layers over and add adhesive to the back!  Then your string spinner portion to the back as pictured below:

I try to keep the strings straight and tight.
Now you are ready to add the adorable Penguins and finish up your fun card!!!
My finished card:

Isn’t it adorable?!
I also used the circle die that I used to create the layers on my card to die cut a piece of Poinsettia Paper to place behind my spinner piece on the inside of the card!  As the spinner got a little lost being white with a white background.  I think it really pulled the whole card together nicely!!
So in love with this fun card!!

You can check out my blog post here, I have a short little video showing the card in action!!  I was unable to upload it here, sorry.

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
Christmas month is finally here!  YaY!  Love Christmas and love to make holiday cards, like this one:
Eeek, I love the hippy vibe of this card.  So much fun!  I used Dare 2B Artzy Holly Days Papers paired with the Penguin Fun Stamps.  Those little penguins are so fun.  This was a great way to use up some scraps, as I cut two circles from the patterned paper and then layered them up on a dry-embossed white background and a doily.  Here’s a close-up:
The circle behind the fussy cut penguin was cut from the center of the background (i.e. behind the patterned paper).  Easy and fun!

Craftily yours,

Happy Saturday D2BA Fans!!

We are so excited to have a guest designer sharing some lovely inspiration with us this month!!

Are you ready for this month’s guest designer?!

You’re going to love her beautiful work!!

Please give a warm welcome to…..

My name is Ruza and I share my creations over at Ruza’s Craft Corner. I’m a stay-at-home mom to a Special Needs young lady in Northern Illinois. I’ve been crafting since I was a young child, and when I became a “SAHM” 7-years ago I turned to crafting. Creating cards, altering items, and just having fun with paper and Copic Markers, Watercolor Markers, Pencils, etc. It is an amazing hobby that I truly love. I’m very grateful that I have a husband that supports me, a son that loves seeing and receiving my creations, and that my special young lady enjoys getting into my crafts (sometimes). I truly love the challenge of making something beautiful with the various products available in the crafting industry, and I honored that Dare 2B Artzy invited me to be a Guest Designer this month. Their collection of stamps and coordinating dies are amazing, and so fun and easy to work with.

Today’s card features the Penguin Fun Stamp Set (#16221) along with the Penguin Dies (D29). I love penguins so this set caught my eye immediately, and I just had to play with them.

I stamped one of the three penguins from the set several times using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and Copic Markers were used to color them. Using the coordinating dies I cut out one of the penguins. I then fussy cut out each section of the “ugly sweater” and layered them back together using my Xyron Sticker Maker. Just so you have an idea what I’m talking about … you have the full sweater plus bow-tie, next is the sweater and bow (no sleeves), with the final portion just being the bow-tie. This adds a little more dimension to the card that is more noticeable in person because you can feel the texture.

I put the adorable penguin on some icebergs. I positioned and stamped the bottom iceberg on my card, and added the Sweater Weather Sentiment at the same time with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then stamped two more icebergs and cut one out with the coordinating die, and fussing cut the second one as I only wanted a portion of the iceberg. Color was added with my Copic Markers. Tumbled Glass Distress Ink was added above the iceberg on my card, and then using 3D Foam Squares I added the other icebergs and the adorable penguin to my card.

The penguins in this set are so adorable, and I look forward to creating more projects with them.

What a lovely card!!!

We are so excited to have you designing with us this month Ruza!!

Have a great day!!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
My sons are 22 and 23.  They are gift card and cash kind of guys for presents, but momma’s crafty.  A combination is for me to make them crafty gift card holders (and to add a little something to the inside)!  I used the Dare 2B Artzy Penguin Fun stamps and Holly Days papers to make this:

Instead of using a standard sized card, I cut a piece of cardstock at 11″ x 5.5″.  I then scored at 4.25″ and again at 8.5″.  Then I taped the small flap inside to create a pocket for cash.  Here’s a look:

ALL I had in my wallet when I took the picture is $1.  I’ll make sure to add a little bit more when I give it to one of my sons!
