Happy Sunday Dare 2B Artzy Friends!!

Our February Guest Designer Kathy is back today to share another beautiful card with us!

—–

It’s been great guesting this month with Dare 2B Artzy!

There are so many fabulous new products that are so fun to play with like this Spit Happens stamp set and Alpaca coordinating dies!

For my card, I  embossed a brick background and used a strip of pattern paper from one of the new designs in the Summertime Petals Collection.  The super cute alpaca and cactus images from the Spit Happens stamp set were copic colored.  The sentiment was white embossed on black cardstock.

Though I went with a general sentiment for this card, there are a few sentiments in this set that really make me laugh and I’m looking forward to using them for a few future cards 🙂

Happy Sunday Dare 2B Artzy Friends!!

We have new Guest Designer joining us this month!!

Please help us welcome the talented Kathy!

We are so very excited to have her designing with us this month!!

Here is a little bit about Kathy:

I’ve been married to my honey, Mark, for 22 years and we have a beautiful daughter, Danielle, who is a junior in college.  Since I was little, I enjoyed all kinds of crafting, but then stamping found me and it was love at first inking.   Stamping and paper crafting just plain make me happy and keep me sane!  I was first introduced to Dare 2B Artzy at Legacy Paper Arts – the first store to carry the line – and I’ve been a fan ever since!!

—–

I’m so thrilled to be Dare 2B Artzy‘s Guest Designer for February!!!

My cards today are featuring the new Bouquet 4 You stampsFresh Picked dies, coordinating Summertime Petals pattern paper and Trellis die.

With all the cold weather we’ve been having, I needed a touch of spring and the new Bouquet 4 You  set did the trick!

For the first card, I layered two different pattern designs from the Summertime Petals collection.  I cut white cardstock using the new Trellis die; cutting out a small rectangle from the die cut Trellis piece to fit behind the frame.

The sweet flower pot images were copic colored.

—-

Need to make a quick card?  Is coloring not your thing or you don’t have the time?  Then you are gonna LOVE this!  The Fresh Picked dies perfectly coordinate with images on the Summertime Petals collection!  Simply line up a die to the coordinating image on the pattern paper and send it through your die cutting machine!

My second card literally took 10 minutes to put together!  I layered pink cardstock for the background and cut white cardstock with the Trellis die.  I then lined up the bouquet die and bow die with the coordinating pattern paper image and ran through my Big Shot.  The sentiment was stamped on vellum and I added a few large sequins.  Voila!

—-

There are so many Dare 2B Artzy stamps and dies you’ll fall in LOVE with and tons of new goodies in the store (psst…even stencils)!  Looking forward to sharing more projects with you in the coming weeks!

Have a nice day!

Kathy

Happy Sunday Dare 2B Artzy Friends!!

We have one last post from Guest Designer Theresa!

We’ve really enjoyed having her GDT with us this month!!  THANKS!!!

Hello & Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!
I’m back as Guest Designer for
Dare 2B Artzy during the month of January!

This is my Last Post (inserting SAD FACE)
I have totally enjoyed my time here and can’t THANK
Everyone at Dare 2B Artzy Enough for having me
be apart of their team this month!!

Now, Let’s see what I made this week —
Isn’t this just the Cutest??? OMGOSH! I LOVE this
I started out by using some 110lb White Cardstock – then I Die cut a piece
of Neenah Silver Metallic Cardstock with a Postage Frame Die

I found some Stitched Slope dies in my stash & die cut them out
to create 3 different layers — Then I pulled out a Background design
I made using the Baby Wipe Method –

I adhered the white snow slopes to my Background design
then I used a Rectangle Stitched die to trim it down
the final size was 3 1/4 x 4 1/2
Here’s a close-up, so you can see this sweet Penguin riding on his sled
and I think the sentiment says it all! He looks like he’s just having a ball!!

I stamped all the images on some KOH-I-NOOR Bristol
Smooth White Watercolor paper – Then colored them
with my Zig Real Brush Pens – I added some Clear
Wink of Stella to the Hat & Scarf
I adhered the Sled to the slope and then used some
Dimension to POP up my Penguin over the sled —

The Sentiment was made by using 2 circle dies
to help give it that curved look – then I just
fishtailed the ends to give it a banner design —
I popped the sentiment up as well and now
my card is ready to mail off!
Thanks so much for joining me this month!
Have a FABULOUS DAY!!!

Happy Sunday Dare 2B Artzy Friends!!

We have Guest Designer Theresa on the Blog today sharing another lovely project!!

—–

Hello & Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!
I’m back as Guest Designer for
Dare 2B Artzy during the month of January!

I’m just so Excited to be their Guest Designer
and I’m totally Lovin this Super CUTE

Check out what I created with it this week —

I started out by stamping the Cup & Topping images on some
Water Color paper, using my Misti Tool & some Versafine Onyx Black ink

Then I pulled out My Zig Real Brush Pens to
color up my images – I also Pulled out my
White & Clear Wink of Stella Pens to color the
Topping images – I thought they should sparkle!
Once I got the mugs colored I thought it was time to
pick some matching Papers & Dies —
I pulled out some Doodlebug Paper and a piece of Vellum
Then I added a couple of Rectangle Stitched dies & a Doily die

I decided I wanted to use a stencil & make my own background –
So I pulled this adhesive back dotted swirl stencil from my stash and
grabbed some Distress Inks to match up with my mugs —
I did some masking off since I didn’t want the colors
all over my white cardstock piece —

Here’s a close up so you can see how I mixed the colors
together with the swirls – I tried to use different shades
of purples, blues, & grey… After I was done I
used a stitch die to cut out my cardstock –
the final size is 3 1/4 x 4 1/2
This is my card completed – I Cut the Vellum with the Doily Die
because I wanted the swirls in the background to stand out —
It adds just enough to also make the mug Pop!
I cut a strip of grey Designer Paper and Stamped the sentiment
with Versamark ink then Heat Embossed it with some
Fine White Embossing powder – then I cut the ends
to give it that banner look – I also POPPED up my
Yummy Topping for just a little extra dimension –

I had SOOOO MUCH Fun Making this card!
I can’t wait to mail it off to one of my Crafty Friends!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Please help us give a warm Welcome to this month’s Guest Designer….she is so sweet and very talented!!!

Theresa

Hi! I’m Theresa and I live in Southern Utah with my sweet husband  –  We have 3 amazing boys and I started crafting when my oldest started Kindergarten – that was over 20 years ago! Seems like yesterday sometimes! LOL I started with scrapbooking but found that I like making cards way more!
I also have a second love which is home decor projects! I like to paint them & vinyl them up with fun sayings! If I’m not in my craft room (which is all the time) you’ll find me in my kitchen because baking & cooking are some of my other loves – I’m Excited & Honored to be Guest Designer for Dare 2B Artzy amongst these beautiful and talented ladies!

———-

Hello & Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!
Today is a HUGE honor for me as I’m Guest Designer for Dare 2B Artzy this Month! EEK!
You have no idea how excited I am to be doing this!

Anyway, They have a wonderful Challenge that started last Sunday
The theme is Winter Wonderland!
Here’s what I created to inspire you to play along:
I just LOVE how this card turned out!
I’m using the adorable stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy called Cup of Cheer!!
I really like how the sentiment matches up perfectly with my card design!
I stamped my cup on some Watercolor paper and colored it with my Zig Real Brush Pens.
I created the steam by stamping on Vellum with versafine Onyx black ink then
heat embossing it with some Fine Black embossing powder!
Then I fussy cut around the steam and attached it with a quickie glue pen!

This is gonna be a great card to send to one of my crafty friends!
I look forward to seeing what you create!

Have a Fabulous Day!!

Theresa

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!!!

Guest Designer LeeAnn, from Mimi’s Crafty Abyss, is back today to share another fun card with us!!

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here today as a guest designer with Dare 2 Be Artzy.

Today I am going to be using the On The Dock stamp set to created my project.

For my project I used the Dock image and the Subway Art sentiment, I thought they would go great together.

To begin, I used my stamp positioner to stamp the dock in the lower left corner, I then turned the stamp around and used a little masking tape to not stamp over what I already did, and stamped the image again, lining up the best I could to have the dock extend off the edge of the paper. Using Mermaid Lagoon distress ink I colored the background in a sweeping motion direct from the pad to create a lake type view with high and low spots.

Using Rusty Hinge distress ink I colored the dock running off into the water a bit to give a reflection.

Finishing up I used Memento Black to stamp the sentiment.

I’m not sure about you but this makes me want to head off to the lake right now, if only the boat wasn’t in the shop.

Thank you for coming by, please come again soon!

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!!!

We have a new Guest Designer for the month of June!!

Please help us give a warm welcome to LeeAnn, from Mimi’s Crafty Abyss!!

First, let’s learn a little bit more about this talented designer:

My name is LeeAnn and I live in Central Florida. I am a wife, mom, and Mimi. I love spending my time in craft room creating cards for friends, family, and the local children’s hospitals. I attended a scrapbook party in 1998 and with 3 active daughters was immediately hooked. I became a consultant for several years then with life’s twists and turns I got away from my crafting. 10 years later I received news that I was going to be a Mimi and the crafting bug came back and has been very strong since. I am very excited for this opportunity to work with Dare 2 B Artzy as it is one of the teams I have longed to work with. Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy my projects.

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here today in my guest spot with Dare 2 Be Artzy. I really have had a great time with these stamps and dies, and appreciate the opportunity to work with them.
Today I used the Flip Flops stamp and die sets in my project.

In order to make this project, I first ran the top half of my card topper through my Big Shot inside a Darice embossing folder to get the cloud feature. I stamped the chair on a piece of green cardstock and then ran it through the big shot as well using the die from the set.

When this was complete I used Tumbled Glass distress ink to create the cloudy sky. I used Dried Marigold to create the beach sand look and Mermaid Lagoon to create the water. With a swiping back and forth motion I created it to appear there were white caps on the water as the tide was coming in. With a big wave of the water washing over the the shoreline. I used Bahama blue to stamp the sentiment and cut with my trimmer to size, adhered with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and I really think this needs to be a beach day.

Hi again! I’m Vickie Y and excited to share another card as the April guest designer.

Last week I mentioned in my intro that I live in a resort town. Our town is situated between two man-made recreational lakes. Growing up we spent a lot of time playing, waterskiing, and boating on each lake. When I saw the Live Love Lake stamp set I knew it would provide lots of special memories and creative FUN!

For my card, I used one of my favorite watercolor background techniques using an acrylic block, inks, and a water spray bottle, along with watercolor cardstock.
4 16 inks vky
I used the D2BA Tropical Ink Cubes to ink up the acrylic block (see below), then  spritzed it with water, and smooshed it down onto the watercolor cardstock and let it sit for a minute or two before lifting it. I let the cardstock air dry (a heat tool can be used to speed up the drying process).

Once the ink was dry, I trimmed the panel and then used the Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black Premium ink to stamp the images and sentiment. I layered the stamped panel over the Dare 2B Artzy Slate designer paper from the D2BA Doodles Variety Paper Pack and dark blue card base.

Here is another card created using this background technique and the Flip Flops stamp set and the Flip Flops and Adirondack dies.

Happy Sunday Dare 2B Artzy Friends!!

Please help us give a warm Welcome to this month’s Guest Designer….

4 x 6 vky

I’m Vickie Yeakley (AKA Vickie Y).  I live in a small resort town in Indiana.  I am married and we have grown children and lots of beautiful grandkids!  I’m retired from the public school sector as a grant administrator for eleven school districts.  When I retired, work was replaced with paper crafting FUN!  My blog is On The Fringe (because I’m always on the fringe of discovery!)

I am excited to be the April D2BA Guest Designer!

I consider myself an eclectic crafter, creating all types of paper crafts.  I enjoy using different coloring media.

———-

For my first card this month I used the Butterfly Inspiration stamp set.

4 9 17 Butterfly Inspiration vky

To create the background I inked two of the butterfly images using inks from the Dare 2B Artzy Festive and Tropical ink cubes and stamped onto watercolor cardstock.  Using a #9 round watercolor brush and lots of water I pulled the color from the stamped images, then dried the panel using a heat tool.  I stamped the larger butterfly onto the watercolored background using Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink.  Stamped the butterfly again on a scrap piece of watercolor cardstock then smooshed the Festive and Tropical ink cubes onto my craft mat and picked the color up with an aquabrush to color the butterfly, heat set, and then fussy cut it to overlay on the black stamped butterfly image.

I completed the card panel by stamping the sentiment and using the paintbrush and to do a little ink splatter.

I hope you like this fun and colorful butterfly card; I encourage you to try this easy watercolor technique on your next card!

Hugz,

Vickie Y

HI Dare2BArtzy friends!

Kelly here with another card to share with you as a Guest Designer for March.

Today’s card is using the stamp set Flip Flops as summer is going to be here sooner than we think!
This card has a lot of layers – perfect for the challenge this month: Lots of Layers.

First up, I inked the fun lemonade stamp, colored it with copic markers and blended it to give it a little ‘watery’ vibe.

There is an awesome matching die set to this stamp set – you can see that here.

I’ve fussy cut mine and added 3d foam dots to pop it up from the card.

Lastly, the sentiment is a wonderful reminder for all of us to take some time to unwind!

I hope today’s card inspires you to get inky with your Dare2BArtzy stamps and inks!

Inky hugs!
Kelly
