Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy DT inspiration project with you today, a CAS beach-themed card created with the amazing Flip Flops stamp set, Midnight Blue, Margarita Lime and Paradise ink, and a thin strip of the reverse side of the Chevron paper used on the inside. I LOVE a blue and green color combo!

I stamped the beach chair in the Margarita Lime ink and the sentiment in the Midnight Blue ink. I adhered the stamped panel to some fun foam for a little dimension and layered it on a blue panel which I adhered to the card base.

Using a Spectrum Noir marker, I colored in the word “Tide” and added a few sequins matching the colors used on the inside.

Hi all, it’s Vicki Dutcher, from All I Do Is Stamp.  Today I am sharing a good bye card.

I have a co-worker who is leaving [so sad] to become a brand new stay home mom [so happy].  I am really going to miss this chick, and I wanted to give her a card to let her know that. 🙂

Using the Butterfly Kisses set, along with a sentiment from the Totally Tracy Spring Into Life helped me make the perfect card for her.

I used the direct to paper technique with my inks [I do love this look].  The nice solid stamped butterflies work well with it too [I think].

I think my co-worker will like this card.  It has the perfect sentiment for her for sure!  I hope you like it too!

See you next time~~

Hi, Dare 2B Artzy friends!

Tasha here from CraftyPinkPixie.com sharing a fun birthday shaker card created with the “Happy Birthday Mini” and “Perfect Blend” stamp sets!

To create this card, I stamped the coffee cup and cupcake images with black ink and colored them with markers. To add sparkle, I used clear glitter on the frosting and cup holder.

The sentiment selected was “Birthday Wishes” and it was stamped in black on the holder. I was so excited that this stamp fits perfectly on the cup; being able to mix stamps sets allow you to create a larger variety of projects.

After coloring, I cut the images out and started to build the shaker. I used a rose gold glitter paper for the back and a brown plaid pattern paper for the frame. I thought these colors went with the coffee theme. Multi-colored sequins filled the shaker to add a festive look; I love these bright colors!

To finish the design, I attached the cute little cupcake to the card with foam tape and placed a coordinating scalloped frame around the shaker to give more shimmer. Lastly, I used a dark red card stock to create the square base.

I hope you enjoyed this fun coffee themed birthday card!

Have a wonderful day!

Hi!  It’s Melody from Handmade Card Happiness sharing my latest card for summer, and I’m ready for some fireworks and a barbecue!

D2BA’s Pomegranate and Midnight Blue Doodles Paper made the perfect layers for this celebratory cascading card!  I stamped the banner, Pledge of Allegiance star, and sentiments using the Pomegranate ink and the Midnight Blue ink.  The banner and Pledge of Allegiance stamps are from an earlier Dare 2B Artzy stamp set called “My Hero.”  The sentiments are from the Patriotic Owl stamp set.  The owl in that set is absolutely adorable!  I need to make a card with that owl!

13145_owlPatriotic.jpg

The stars were cut using a star punch and then adhered to the card.  The banner with the “God Bless America” sentiment was adhered to the base using a strip of acetate.
A white square of card stock trimmed with the top strip from the patterned paper created a place to write a message to the recipient…maybe even an invitation to a holiday barbeque!

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer!  Head over to my blog for more details! Don’t forget to enter June’s Summer Card Challenge for a chance to win a stamp set and ink pad of your choosing!

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!!!

We have a new Guest Designer for the month of June!!

Please help us give a warm welcome to LeeAnn, from Mimi’s Crafty Abyss!!

First, let’s learn a little bit more about this talented designer:

My name is LeeAnn and I live in Central Florida. I am a wife, mom, and Mimi. I love spending my time in craft room creating cards for friends, family, and the local children’s hospitals. I attended a scrapbook party in 1998 and with 3 active daughters was immediately hooked. I became a consultant for several years then with life’s twists and turns I got away from my crafting. 10 years later I received news that I was going to be a Mimi and the crafting bug came back and has been very strong since. I am very excited for this opportunity to work with Dare 2 B Artzy as it is one of the teams I have longed to work with. Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy my projects.

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here today in my guest spot with Dare 2 Be Artzy. I really have had a great time with these stamps and dies, and appreciate the opportunity to work with them.
Today I used the Flip Flops stamp and die sets in my project.

In order to make this project, I first ran the top half of my card topper through my Big Shot inside a Darice embossing folder to get the cloud feature. I stamped the chair on a piece of green cardstock and then ran it through the big shot as well using the die from the set.

When this was complete I used Tumbled Glass distress ink to create the cloudy sky. I used Dried Marigold to create the beach sand look and Mermaid Lagoon to create the water. With a swiping back and forth motion I created it to appear there were white caps on the water as the tide was coming in. With a big wave of the water washing over the the shoreline. I used Bahama blue to stamp the sentiment and cut with my trimmer to size, adhered with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and I really think this needs to be a beach day.

Hi Chris here and we have been swamped with graduations!  All three of my kids graduated! My oldest from College, my middle from Junior College and my youngest from 8th grade!  Needless to say lots of their friends graduated as well.  So…. I needed LOTS and LOTS of graduation cards! I chose a simple design that was easy to recreate!

Supplies needed:

Dare 2B Artzy Paisley Bliss

Dare 2B Artzy You’ve Got Mail

Dare 2B Artzy Midnight Blue Premium Ink

This card is super quick and easy and could be recreated in your graduates school colors.

Mask off location for greeting.  Stamp Paisley Bliss around card.

Remove mask and Stamp Greeting fromYou’ve Got Mail and the Card is finished!

Hope you are inspired to get stamping!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
The Dare 2B Artzy Cupcake Background Die is so perfect for quick birthday cards.  Here’s how I used it:

Cute huh?  I love the fun detail.  I ran it through my Big Shot twice – once in the light green and once in purple.  I then cut the cupcake base from a scrap of the blue.  I had a sheet of adhesive behind the large green die cut, so I just stuck it down on the blue, stamped the sentiment on the cupcake base and glued it down.  I took the “negative” from the purple and added some purple frosting onto my cupcake.  I added some twine and sequins along with a button – and done!
Here’s a close-up:

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Tonya here from Krafty Enchantments.  I hope you are having a great week so far. I’m back today to share another card I created using some of my favorite Dare 2B Artzy stamps.

Today’s card features the feathers from the Dare 2B Artzy Dream Catcher stamp set and the matching feather dies and the Swirls Background stamp set.

Like most of my projects I started off by playing and experimenting. This time I was playing with my Color Burst Powders. If you’re not familiar with Color Burst powders, they are concentrated micro fine water color powders and they are so much fun to play with. They are very forgiving also so if you’re intimidated by water colors, give these a try.

I used the Tangerine and Fuchsia Color Burst Powders and poofed them onto a piece of heavy cardstock. When I refer to poofing I’m talking about squeezing the bottle so that a small poof of the powder comes out onto the paper. A little goes a long way with these powders so you don’t need too much.

With the powder on the paper, I used a spray bottle and thoroughly covered the cardstock with the water to activate the powder and blend the colors. When I’m using these powders I find that it’s easier to put a cloth underneath in order to dab off the puddles of liquid that pool and roll off the cardstock. To set the colors you can allow the panel to dry on its own or you can use a heat gun to speed up the drying.

At this point you can add more Color Burst to the panel if you’re not satisfied with the coverage or blending of colors. You can just keep repeating the process of powder, water and drying as long as you’ve used a heavy weight cardstock or water color paper that can handle the water.

With my panel completely dried, I added some heat embossed swirls using the Swirls background stamp and some Carnelian orange embossing powder to give it a tone on tone look. I really love this Swirls background stamp and I think it looks amazing with this tone on tone effect. I die cut the whole piece with a larger rectangle die with rounded edges.

For my base panel, I stamped the various feathers onto the outside edge of a dark blue piece of a scalloped die cut cardstock using some Ranger Perfect Medium and then brushed on some Perfect Pearls Powders. The colors of Perfect Pearls that I used were Turquoise, Sour Apple and Forever Violet.  The powders really pop against the dark cardstock. I love the shimmer against the blue background.

However, Perfect Pearls are not smudge proof so I used some Krylon Spray Fixative and sprayed a coat over the entire panel to set the Perfect Pearls. I set the piece aside to dry for about 15 minutes.

I added my sentiment using some Sapphire blue embossing powder on a piece of white cardstock and die cut it with another one of my funky rounded square dies.

I wanted bring of bit of the background to the foreground of my card. I used some dark cardstock and stamped one of the feathers from the Dream Catcher stamp set with the Perfect Medium again and added some Perfect Pearls to it and die cut it out using the matching Dare 2B Artzy feather dies. I added some spray fixative to it to set the Perfect Pearls.

After the fixative was dry, I was ready to assemble the card. I added dimensional foam to all 3 layers and adhered them to each other on top of a white cardstock card base. I added the die cut feather to the edge of my sentiment.

Of course I had to add some bling to the card so I added some iridescent sequins to the card front. I was excited to use a new tool to aid in picking up the pesky sequins that I always seem to drop and get everywhere. The tool is called a Jewel Picker from Marvy and it works great for picking up sequins and small embellishments as it has a sticky rubber-like end on both sides that picks them up very easily!

I love how this card turned out. The bright colors and the shimmer from the Perfect Pearls makes my day.  I hope that it brightens your day as well and that you’re inspired to try out some different products or techniques on your next Dare 2B Artzy project.

Check out the Dare 2B Artzy store for these stamp sets and many others for all your crafting needs. Also, don’t forget that we have a new challenge that started this last weekend. It’s a summer theme so be sure to submit a fun summer themed project and you could win a stamp and ink pad of your choice from Dare 2B Artzy! Details are on the Dare 2B Artzy blog here.

Good Monday to you, Dare 2B Atrzy friends!!

Janette here sharing with you two fun birthday balloon cards!

Today’s featured technique is masking. So easy with simple shapes – and coloring with Zig markers makes this card a snap. I use full stick Post-It notes, normally in just the standard size. Leave 3 or so layers together, stamp your image onto them, and fussy cut the stack together.

Next, begin by stamping a few Birthday Balloons on your paper that do not touch. I prefer to use Bristol paper when working with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. It is smooth and keeps the ink on top of the paper, for easy blending, before it dries at a normal rate. Then mask and stamp an overlapping image. Only mask the images that will interfere with your next image. Remember that the images you stamp first will appear to be in the front.

I began by laying a thick line of color to the bottom left of each balloon, and then blended up to the right with a water brush filled with clear water. Achieve the watercolor blooms by adding small drops of clear water where you would like a highlight. My paper was 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. I filled the whole page, colored it and then trimmed it for 2 cards. Heat emboss the birthday sentiment and add a few sequins for sparkle!

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy DT inspiration project with you today, a pretty sympathy card using the Wishing You Comfort stamp set, Wild Orchid Ink, Leaf Background die and a scrap of Artzy Doodles Wild Orchid paper.

2017_03050001a

I’m in love with this leaf background die, and definitely see more projects using this in my future!  I used two contrasting shades of purple and placed a layer of vellum with tiny flowers between the lighter die cut piece and the darker bottom piece. I stamped the sentiment in white dye ink and added a pretty double-loop bow.

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!!!

We have Guest Designer, Michelle from Scrapweaver.com, joining us again today to share one last project with us this month!!

Hello again! Michelle Houghton here with another post for my guest designer month at Dare 2B Artzy!
For this post I decided to play with the Raggity Rabbit stamp set. I am totally in love with this stamp set for a variety of reasons. I love the image and all the little do-dads that go with it, this is one well loved friend. I also love the range of the sentiments from Easter, to friendship allowing
for a whole slew of card ideas and options!
So strait to the creating! First I stamped my image and sentiment with D2BA Premium Ink – Totally Black.

Then I gathered my Copic markers, I decided to go for muted tones this time with a group of E40’s and V90’s.
I colored up my image using my Copics and added my Colorless Blender to fade the background color to white.
I had some older patterned papers in my stash that matched the feel of the colored image perfectly and I added some touches of burlap and twine that felt a little worn around the edges like my rabbit.
On Wednesday, May 31st I will have a video featuring this very card from start to finish. It will show the Copic coloring and card making. You can find it at Copic In The Craft Room on YouTube.

Feel free to also stop by my personal blog or other social media outlets as well and get all the up to date information on Copic happenings!

Hi all – it’s Vicki here today [All I Do Is Stamp] with a fun coffee card for you all.

I used the fun coffee sets; Tall Dark & Rich set, and Perfect Blend.  I also used the fabulous designer paper Cindy creates.  I love that the paper is 2 sided and matches so perfectly!

I do love tall, dark and rich! 😉

Do you ever make coffee cards?  D2BA has some awesome coffee sets!

I hope you enjoyed my post today — See you next time~

Hi, Dare 2B Artzy friends!

Tasha here from CraftyPinkPixie.com sharing a colorful watercolor Thank You card created with the Find Your Purpose and Happiness Blooms stamp sets.

The pattern was created by stamping one large flower multiple times with black D2BA ink. The images were painted with watercolor and I layered metallic shimmer watercolor on top. The centers were painted solid black and I used white gel pen to embellish. I love this sunflower design!

To create this layered look, I cut the center from the card and layered it on pink paper. I think this looks awesome and the pink coordinates perfectly with the bright yellow flowers!

For the sentiment, I used the “Thanks” stamp from the Happiness Blooms set. Since this card has a large pattern, I wanted to keep the sentiment simple. To do this, I embossed the word in white on black cardstock and cut one end to create a banner. The black and white color combination is perfect next to all the pops of color!

To complete the card, I painted the background in a metallic shimmery blue. This color is one of my favorites and gives a sky-like appearance. Lastly, a base was created with yellow textured cardstock and the inside was left blank to allow a handwritten message.

I hope you enjoyed this fun card project and are inspired to create with the Happiness Blooms and Find Your Purpose stamp sets!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello, Stampers!
I hope your week is starting well!  A few weeks ago, my husband and I were the recipients of a Random Act of Kindness.  Last week, the neighbors on the other side of our home surprised us with another act of kindness and mowed our lawn!  I think our neighbors feel sorry for my husband as he is the only one still using a push mower in the neighborhood!  (I think we better go purchase a riding lawn mower!) 🙂  Luckily, I had the soon-to-be released Dare 2B Artzy stamp set called “Wishing Happiness” to use to create another thank you card!

After stamping the flowers using Dare 2B Artzy’s Totally Black Ink, I colored the images using the following Copic markers:
Y00, Y06, Y18
YR01, YR04, YR68
C00, C3
I added some accents with Sakura Glaze pens XPGB #805 and #849.

Next I die cut the white panel using the stitched border from the Leaf Background Die and stamped the leaves using Margarita Lime.  The sentiment was stamped with Totally Black Ink.  After fussy cutting the flowers, I popped them up using some foam tape.  A few sequins from my stash finished the card.  We just need to purchase a restaurant gift card and give this to our neighbors!
I can’t say enough how blessed we are to have such great neighbors!

There is still time to link up your girly project to this month’s Dare 2B Artzy Challenge!  The randomly chosen winner gets to select a stamp set and ink pad!  That could be you! 🙂

Happy stamping!
Melody – Instagram and Blog

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy DT inspiration project with you today, a clean and simple get well card done in bright colors that are sure to make anyone feel better! I used the absolutely amazing Butterfly Tangle stamp set, Butterfly die, Midnight Blue and Totally Black inks and Artzy Doodles Midnight Blue paper. OMG, all of the Artzy Doodles papers are on my list of favorites!

I stamped the butterfly in Totally Black ink on the white background panel which I layered on the Midnight Blue paper and adhered to the card base. I stamped the butterfly again on a smaller piece of the white cardstock and colored both stamped images identically. I cut the butterfly that I stamped on the smaller piece of cardstock with the coordinating die, bent the wings slightly and layered it onto the background panel. I put a couple smaller pieces of clear 3-D foam pad under the wings for dimension. I stamped the sentiment in the Midnight Blue ink and added some randomly placed sequins.

For more details and additional photos, please see my blog post at Love To Scrap 2.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project! Be sure to check out all the fun stamps, dies, inks and papers at Dare2BArtzy! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time!

Hi Everyone! Hope you’re having a fabulous day! I’m back today to share my latest Dare 2B Artzy creation.

Today’s card was actually inspired by a relatively new product I tried out called Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. I was curious about this product so I ordered some off of Ebay because I could get several different colors in a set. I managed to get some really pretty colors to try out: Citrus Green, Indian Gold, Pacific Teal, Royal Aubergine and Orange Blush. When my package arrived, I opened it and my husband asked what it was – I told him it was my war paint. Crafting war paint, LOL! It would definitely make for some interesting, eye-catching war paint!!

I started to play with the mousse, testing it on different papers and I discovered that they looked very pretty on darker papers because they take on a bit of a metallic finish. When I used a small paint brush and applied the Pacific Teal, I was in love. It sort of looks like a black wrought iron fencing that gets a bit of a patina shimmer to it when you touch it.

I cut two pieces of black cardstock using a diagonal striped backdrop die. Ultimately I flipped one of the die cut pieces over with the strips facing the opposite direction to create the black lattice of my card. I brushed on the Pacific Teal Nuvo Mousse with a small flat paint brush, going against the direction of the diagonal strips of my cut cardstock. Note: I did not dilute the mousse at all – just dabbed my paint brush into it and then brushed straight onto my cardstock. You can add water to soften the consistency of the mousse as it’s very thick, like a clay. I’d imagine with water you could also use it to paint as well.

For my flowers, I stamped the flowers from the Dare 2B Artzy Happiness Blooms stamp set onto some Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored them with my Copics. I used a limited number of colors for the flowers sticking with purple, teal, orange and some green for the leaves. I love the bold colors on these flowers as it makes them pop.

Once I was finished coloring, I fussy cut the flowers out and set them aside.

I’d originally planned to put some patterned paper behind my lattice but it really didn’t show up too well. Instead I decided to go with something that had texture and pulled out a burlap paper stack I had purchased quite a while ago. I found the last piece of the teal blue burlap and decided it would be perfect.

I cut the burlap down to just a bit smaller than the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 of my lattice and used some clear all purpose glue to adhere the lattice and burlap together.

I created a cardstock base from some 110lb white cardstock that measured 4 1/4 x 6. I used the 1/2 strips of edging from the Dare 2B Artzy Medallion Bliss paper pack and adhered a section of the strip to both the top and bottom of the card base.

Next, I glued down the lattice & burlap background to the card base and positioned my flowers on opposite corners with some foam tape to give it some dimension.

For my sentiment, I used the Happy Brithday from the You’ve Got Mail stamp/sentiment set and stamped it onto a piece of vellum using some Versamark. Then I used some Blue Odyssey embossing powder and heat set it. I added the vellum sentiment flag to the card front using some Elizabeth craft tape, cut into 1/2 and placed behind the sentiment so it wouldn’t be as obvious.

I love that trying a new product can take your projects in unexpected directions. I think sometimes the best projects come from experimentation. I guess that’s the whole point of Dare 2B Artzy, right?!

Hope you’re doing some crafty, experimentation today! Remember your beautiful creations brighten someone else’s day and maybe even inspires them to create something as well.

Be sure to check out the Dare 2B Artzy store to purchase the gorgeous Happiness Blooms stamp set and the You’ve Got Mail stamp/sentiment set. The Dare 2B Artzy store has everything to fit your needs for your next craft project; from stamps and matching dies to inks and paper.

Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends!!!

Please help us give a warm welcome to this month’s Guest Designer, Michelle from Scrapweaver.com!!  She joined us for our last Blog Hop, but is back to share two projects with us this month!!  We absolutely love her work and hope you do too!!

Hi! Michelle Houghton here. I am thrilled to be joining Dare 2B Artzy this month as their guest designer. Here is a little about me before I share my first project.

I am the wife to an amazing husband and the mother of two beautiful girls in Iowa.  I am a busy stay-at-home mom, teaching doodling and Copic classes both on-line and across the US and Canada. Prior to motherhood, I was an art teacher and I love being able to continue sharing my art through card making and scrapbooking techniques.  I have been scrapbooking for about 20 years and coloring with Copic markers for the last 10 years.  When I first tried Copics I fell in love and have since gotten both my Certification and Intermediate Certification from Imagination International Inc., the United States distributor of Copic Markers. After about 5 years of teaching Copic classes on-line I began teaching for III as a Regional Instructor, I also run their Copic In The Craft Room site and help create new curriculum for their Certification Team.  Bottom line: I love to teach! Teaching live and on-line has been an amazing adventure!

For my project today I am using the Dare 2B Artzy stamp set, The Potter, and Totally Black ink pad.  To start I stamped the image and phrase on a sheet of tracing paper.

Next I used my Copic markers to color on the back of the tracing paper. *This is key so the ink does not smear. Here are the markers I used and a close up of what the Copic coloring looks like on the tracing paper. You will not get smooth blending on a surface like this.

Next I created the base layer for my page and added journaling. I adhered the image only at the top edge so the journaling is masked but can still be accessed. The journaling is written with a gold Kirarina Wink marker.

Here is the final look:

On this Wednesday, May 17th I will have a video of the full process of creating this page from start to finish. I would love for you to stop by and check it out if you have the time. Here is the address to the Copic In The Craft Room YouTube channel.

Feel free to also stop by my personal blog or other social media outlets as well and get all the up to date information on Copic happenings!
