Hello, Stampers!
I hope your week is starting well!  A few weeks ago, my husband and I were the recipients of a Random Act of Kindness.  Last week, the neighbors on the other side of our home surprised us with another act of kindness and mowed our lawn!  I think our neighbors feel sorry for my husband as he is the only one still using a push mower in the neighborhood!  (I think we better go purchase a riding lawn mower!) 🙂  Luckily, I had the soon-to-be released Dare 2B Artzy stamp set called “Wishing Happiness” to use to create another thank you card!

After stamping the flowers using Dare 2B Artzy’s Totally Black Ink, I colored the images using the following Copic markers:
Y00, Y06, Y18
YR01, YR04, YR68
C00, C3
I added some accents with Sakura Glaze pens XPGB #805 and #849.

Next I die cut the white panel using the stitched border from the Leaf Background Die and stamped the leaves using Margarita Lime.  The sentiment was stamped with Totally Black Ink.  After fussy cutting the flowers, I popped them up using some foam tape.  A few sequins from my stash finished the card.  We just need to purchase a restaurant gift card and give this to our neighbors!
I can’t say enough how blessed we are to have such great neighbors!

There is still time to link up your girly project to this month’s Dare 2B Artzy Challenge!  The randomly chosen winner gets to select a stamp set and ink pad!  That could be you! 🙂

Happy stamping!

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy DT inspiration project with you today, a clean and simple get well card done in bright colors that are sure to make anyone feel better! I used the absolutely amazing Butterfly Tangle stamp set, Butterfly die, Midnight Blue and Totally Black inks and Artzy Doodles Midnight Blue paper. OMG, all of the Artzy Doodles papers are on my list of favorites!

I stamped the butterfly in Totally Black ink on the white background panel which I layered on the Midnight Blue paper and adhered to the card base. I stamped the butterfly again on a smaller piece of the white cardstock and colored both stamped images identically. I cut the butterfly that I stamped on the smaller piece of cardstock with the coordinating die, bent the wings slightly and layered it onto the background panel. I put a couple smaller pieces of clear 3-D foam pad under the wings for dimension. I stamped the sentiment in the Midnight Blue ink and added some randomly placed sequins.

For more details and additional photos, please see my blog post at Love To Scrap 2.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project! Be sure to check out all the fun stamps, dies, inks and papers at Dare2BArtzy! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time!

Scrappy hugs,
Leslie

Hi Everyone! Hope you’re having a fabulous day! I’m back today to share my latest Dare 2B Artzy creation.

Today’s card was actually inspired by a relatively new product I tried out called Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. I was curious about this product so I ordered some off of Ebay because I could get several different colors in a set. I managed to get some really pretty colors to try out: Citrus Green, Indian Gold, Pacific Teal, Royal Aubergine and Orange Blush. When my package arrived, I opened it and my husband asked what it was – I told him it was my war paint. Crafting war paint, LOL! It would definitely make for some interesting, eye-catching war paint!!

I started to play with the mousse, testing it on different papers and I discovered that they looked very pretty on darker papers because they take on a bit of a metallic finish. When I used a small paint brush and applied the Pacific Teal, I was in love. It sort of looks like a black wrought iron fencing that gets a bit of a patina shimmer to it when you touch it.

I cut two pieces of black cardstock using a diagonal striped backdrop die. Ultimately I flipped one of the die cut pieces over with the strips facing the opposite direction to create the black lattice of my card. I brushed on the Pacific Teal Nuvo Mousse with a small flat paint brush, going against the direction of the diagonal strips of my cut cardstock. Note: I did not dilute the mousse at all – just dabbed my paint brush into it and then brushed straight onto my cardstock. You can add water to soften the consistency of the mousse as it’s very thick, like a clay. I’d imagine with water you could also use it to paint as well.

For my flowers, I stamped the flowers from the Dare 2B Artzy Happiness Blooms stamp set onto some Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored them with my Copics. I used a limited number of colors for the flowers sticking with purple, teal, orange and some green for the leaves. I love the bold colors on these flowers as it makes them pop.

Once I was finished coloring, I fussy cut the flowers out and set them aside.

I’d originally planned to put some patterned paper behind my lattice but it really didn’t show up too well. Instead I decided to go with something that had texture and pulled out a burlap paper stack I had purchased quite a while ago. I found the last piece of the teal blue burlap and decided it would be perfect.

I cut the burlap down to just a bit smaller than the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 of my lattice and used some clear all purpose glue to adhere the lattice and burlap together.

I created a cardstock base from some 110lb white cardstock that measured 4 1/4 x 6. I used the 1/2 strips of edging from the Dare 2B Artzy Medallion Bliss paper pack and adhered a section of the strip to both the top and bottom of the card base.

Next, I glued down the lattice & burlap background to the card base and positioned my flowers on opposite corners with some foam tape to give it some dimension.

For my sentiment, I used the Happy Brithday from the You’ve Got Mail stamp/sentiment set and stamped it onto a piece of vellum using some Versamark. Then I used some Blue Odyssey embossing powder and heat set it. I added the vellum sentiment flag to the card front using some Elizabeth craft tape, cut into 1/2 and placed behind the sentiment so it wouldn’t be as obvious.

I love that trying a new product can take your projects in unexpected directions. I think sometimes the best projects come from experimentation. I guess that’s the whole point of Dare 2B Artzy, right?!

Hope you’re doing some crafty, experimentation today! Remember your beautiful creations brighten someone else’s day and maybe even inspires them to create something as well.

Be sure to check out the Dare 2B Artzy store to purchase the gorgeous Happiness Blooms stamp set and the You’ve Got Mail stamp/sentiment set. The Dare 2B Artzy store has everything to fit your needs for your next craft project; from stamps and matching dies to inks and paper.

Happy Tuesday Crafty Friends!!!

Please help us give a warm welcome to this month’s Guest Designer, Michelle from Scrapweaver.com!!  She joined us for our last Blog Hop, but is back to share two projects with us this month!!  We absolutely love her work and hope you do too!!

Hi! Michelle Houghton here. I am thrilled to be joining Dare 2B Artzy this month as their guest designer. Here is a little about me before I share my first project.

I am the wife to an amazing husband and the mother of two beautiful girls in Iowa.  I am a busy stay-at-home mom, teaching doodling and Copic classes both on-line and across the US and Canada. Prior to motherhood, I was an art teacher and I love being able to continue sharing my art through card making and scrapbooking techniques.  I have been scrapbooking for about 20 years and coloring with Copic markers for the last 10 years.  When I first tried Copics I fell in love and have since gotten both my Certification and Intermediate Certification from Imagination International Inc., the United States distributor of Copic Markers. After about 5 years of teaching Copic classes on-line I began teaching for III as a Regional Instructor, I also run their Copic In The Craft Room site and help create new curriculum for their Certification Team.  Bottom line: I love to teach! Teaching live and on-line has been an amazing adventure!

For my project today I am using the Dare 2B Artzy stamp set, The Potter, and Totally Black ink pad.  To start I stamped the image and phrase on a sheet of tracing paper.

Next I used my Copic markers to color on the back of the tracing paper. *This is key so the ink does not smear. Here are the markers I used and a close up of what the Copic coloring looks like on the tracing paper. You will not get smooth blending on a surface like this.

Next I created the base layer for my page and added journaling. I adhered the image only at the top edge so the journaling is masked but can still be accessed. The journaling is written with a gold Kirarina Wink marker.

Here is the final look:

On this Wednesday, May 17th I will have a video of the full process of creating this page from start to finish. I would love for you to stop by and check it out if you have the time. Here is the address to the Copic In The Craft Room YouTube channel.

Feel free to also stop by my personal blog or other social media outlets as well and get all the up to date information on Copic happenings!

Good Monday to you, Dare 2B Atrzy friends!!

Janette here sharing with you an easy peasy birthday shaker card!

Shaker cards are always so fun. Don’t be intimidated by them! If you’ve got some foam tape, a die, and clear packaging, you are good to go!

I pulled this Brusho watercolor powder on watercolor paper background piece from a stack of “just playing” pieces that I hang onto and trimmed it to A2 (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). I always am super excited when I actually use one! I then die cut black glitter paper with the D2BA Cupcake die and another border die for a simple frame. Next, I white heat embossed “Happy Birthday” from D2BA You’ve Got Mail onto a narrow strip of black cardstock.

To assemble the card adhere the border die cut to the cupcake die cut and then add acetate to the back. You can use acetate sheets or I often simply upcycle stamp packaging. Flip to adhere sentiment strip. Next, build the walls on back by first double layering a foot or so of foam tape. Then cut into thin strips, lengthwise. You’ll want the strips thin enough to hide behind the border. Remove backing on one side and adhere to card leaving no gaps for contents to escape. Finally, add varied sequins and/or beads on top of the background paper in center area. Dust exposed interior edges of foam tape with an embossing tool or cornstarch to prevent shaker contents from sticking. Last, remove backing from foam tape and center on background paper. Press firmly around edges to adhere well and shake… shake, shake, shake! So fun and easy, right?!?

Check out all D2BA’s products here! Don’t forget about the newest D2BA Challenge themed “Girly.” The current challenge is always posted in the sidebar to the right at the top.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you pop back in soon for more amazing inspiration!

Hi Chris Here and today I am excited to share these decorative coasters I created with Dare 2B Artzy Stamps!

To recreate these coasters you will need:

Dare 2B Artzy Stamps- Totally Tracy Find Your Purpose, Totally Tracy Journal, Butterfly

Square Tiles

Staz-on ink

Alcohol Markers (such as Copic)

Acrylic Sealer

Felt for bottom of coaster

Rubbing Alcohol (to remove any mistakes)

Start by stamping your image with StazOn ink onto tile.

IMG_0720

IMG_0721

If you make a mistake or the stamped image shifts just wipe off with rubbing alcohol!

Color Image with Alcohol Markers. WARNING!  Your Marker will pick up some of the StazOn Ink.  I used that to my advantage to create shading.  (you can just remove the ink by coloring it off on a piece of scrap paper)

IMG_0722

The streaks/shading  you see are from the marker picking up the ink.  I Colored the flower center in yellow.  LET DRY!  Do not get wet at this point.  I learned the hard way when half my image wiped off.  After drying, spray with Acrylic sealer.  Add felt to bottom of coaster. I still would use these lightly and not put in the dishwasher. Hope you enjoyed this project!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
I recently got the Distress Oxide inks and could not wait to play with them.  And today is my oldest son’s birthday!  He’s a whopping 24 years old.  So hard to believe since I’m only 29!
Here’s what I made for his birthday using the Restore the Soul Stamps:
 D2B-FishLU1
LoVed the inks and love that fishy.  I decorated my card with Cattails Die and adorned it Love You Die cut (that I also colored up with Oxide inks)!  The colors I used to color Mr. Fish were:  YG03, YG05, Y13, Y15, BG02, BG05, R81, R83, YG61, YG63
Here’s a close-up of FuN Mr. Fish:

Hi all, it’s Vicki here from All I Do Is Stamp.  Today I made a Get Well card.

I used one of the 2 sided designer papers that D2bA carries.  While this particular pattern isn’t available, there are many other awesome papers.  I highly recommend checking them out. 🙂

I used the Cup of Cheer stamp set, along with the matching dies.

This card is going to one of my customers who is having surgery.  I love that I have the perfect coffee image to use, and I know she will appreciate it.

See you next time~

Hi, Dare 2B Artzy friends!

Tasha here from CraftyPinkPixie.com sharing a Mother’s Day flower pot card created with the lovely Flowers for Mom stamp set!

I used pink pattern paper to create the flower pot base, and a simple scalloped edge die gave the fold more detail. To complete the design, I attached a glitter paper ribbon with a rhinestone center. It’s so pretty when the light shines on it!

For the bouquet, I stamped four of the same flower images and colored each with markers.Three of the main flowers were layered whole, and one was cut in half and attached to each side to give a fuller look.

I also added three small flowers along the bottom that were raised with thick foam. These little flowers are actually the centers of the round flower stamp, but the coordinating die set allows you to cut out just the center layer.

The “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment was stamped in black on yellow pattern paper and silver glitter paper was used to make the fun scalloped border. I love all the shimmer!

Unlike cards with traditional folds, this design hides your message inside the flower pot. It’s so fun to pull up the flowers to reveal your handwritten Mother’s Day greeting!

I hope you enjoyed this project and are inspired to create with the Flowers for Mom stamp set!

Have a wonderful day!

Could you use a little cheering up on this Monday morning?  If so, these brightly layered cards may be just what you need!

Watermarked2(2017-05-05-1148)

I am having so much fun using Dare 2B Artzy’s NEW Playful Posies Layered stamp set.  The color combinations are endless, but I chose some really bright colors to add some spirit and whimsy to the beginning of the work week!

I used my MISTI to position my stamps so while I had them positioned, I stamped four card panels using the following Dare 2B Artzy inks: Totally Black, Wild Orchid, Paradise, Sunset Yellow, and Margarita Lime.  No Copic coloring for me today!

IMG_0707 (1)

I adhered this panel to a black card base, placed a layer of vellum over a section of it, and added the Thanks Layer Die.

I adhered the second panel to a lattice (basket weave) base.

Watermarked3(2017-05-05-1148)

Thanks to Kelly Acheson at Splitcoaststampers for providing directions and a template!  You can fine the template and directions HERE!

The new Friends Layer Die completed the front of my card!  I love the fonts on these new layering dies, and they align perfectly!

What should I make with my two remaining panels?  I would love to read some suggestions from all of you in the comments!

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy DT inspiration project with you today, a mixed media encouragement card I created using the Dream Catcher and Dream Big stamp sets, Wild Orchid ink and the top strip from Artzy Doodles Wild Orchid paper.

2017_02260001a

A fellow teammate inspired me to play with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. This dream catcher image is perfect for watercoloring so I heat embossed it in white and proceeded to get inky! I painted the entire background with a watered-down purple color and flicked darker purple spots all over it, then colored the inside of the dream catcher and used Crystal Drops to resemble beads. I inked around the outside edges with distress ink and flicked white paint around the outside of the dream catcher. The finished panel is layered on silver mirror cardstock. Fun, fun, fun!

Hi Dare 2B Artzy friends! Tonya here from Krafty Enchantments. Hope everyone had fun with last weekends Dare 2B Artzy 3D Spring Blog Hop? There was so much inspiration from my very talented teammates!! Hope you found something fun to try out or were inspired to create your own Spring 3D Project. I know I need to stock up on paper because there were more than a few things that I’d like to make.

I’m back today with another fun Dare 2B Artzy card to share! I’m using an older Dare 2B Artzy stamp set called Lift Your Spirits which features two gorgeous hot air balloons, some clouds and several sentiments which are perfect for several different occasions.

Personally, I’ve always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon, but just haven’t had the opportunity. I’ve also wanted to go to the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, NM . Both are on my Life TO DO list. In the meantime, I’ll just have to settle for making cards with balloons on them.

To create the card, I started off by stamping the large balloon in the Lift Your Spirits stamp set with the Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink.

I knew I was only going to use a 2 color scheme on my balloon and I wanted it to be bold so I naturally I went with my Copic reds (R24, R27, R29, R59 and R89) and my neutral greys (N1, N3, N4, N7 and N9). I colored most everything leaving a bit of white on the scalloped sections of the balloon. I added just a hint of B0000 to the white sections. When the Copic coloring was dry I added a bit of clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to the white areas of the balloon.

balloon 3 wm

As I was working on this project I kept thinking about the song, “Up, up and Away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon…”. It was a song my grandma played on her record player when I would spend summers with her. Guess the song stuck with me, LOL!

Once, I’d finished coloring everything, I ran the colored balloon through my die cutting machine using the matching  Dare 2B Artzy balloon die. At the same time I cut a few of the clouds out of some white cardstock as well.

I was going to create a brand new background for this card, but since I was cleaning my craft space in my home office that I share with my hubby this past weekend, I ran across a stack of pre-colored pieces that I’d done before the holidays. I don’t know about anyone else, but many times I’ll color and image or play around with my watercolors, airbrush, stencils or whatever and create something. Those pieces may not fit with current projects that I’m working on and truthfully sometimes I don’t even like them, but I rarely ever throw them away because there may be a project down the road that I can utilize them. Also, many times I change my opinion about something I’ve created after I haven’t seen it for a while. It can save a lot of time having a background or colored piece that’s already completed when making cards. I have a paper tray that I throw them into and then when I go through it periodically, I find a treasure trove of art to be used and sometimes new inspiration as well.

 balloon 2 wm

That was the case with my blue background for this card. I’d created a 8×10 wash of water-color using my Gansai Tambi water colors a few months ago and I saw it and thought it would be perfect for my backdrop to my balloon. I cut the piece down into 4 sections (saved the other 3 for later projects) and die cut one using a scalloped square die. The die actually creates a stitched square and then a scalloped frame which are two separate pieces, but I used some craft tape on the back of it to keep the frame and square together. I used a larger scalloped square frame for the bottom layer and cut one from some grey cardstock and one from white and then swapped them to create the base layer with the white scalloped frame.

For my Dare 2B Artzy die cut clouds I ran them through my die cut machine with an embossing folder called Swiss Dots from Cuttlebug to give them a bit of texture.

I layered up the blue layer and my balloon with some dimensional foam to give them a bit of pop.

I stamped the “hi!” sentiment with some Versamark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder to the blue watercolor panel. I love that lowercase sentiment – it’s so fun!

 balloon 1 wm

All of my layers were matted to a piece of grey 110 lb cardstock that measured 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Be sure to check out Dare 2B Artzy’s online store for the Lift Your Spirits stamp set and matching die. The die coordinates with all of the Dare 2B Artzy hot air balloon stamps so you can create your own Balloon Fiesta and send it to a friend.

Have a great week!

Hugs

Hi there, Dare 2B Atrzy friends!!

Did you get a chance to hop along with Dare 2B Artzy this weekend? I have to say there were some fun 3D projects there. If you’d like to revisit, just scroll down the blog just a smidge and there you will find links to all the goodness that was shared!

Today, I am sharing with you a fun card encouraging “Be Yourself“!

IMG_5335

I began with watercolor paper, watercolor powder and good ol’ H2O. I misted the paper and then sprinkled on a blue, turquoise and then yellow watercolor powder. I watched as it bloomed before my eyes. Mesmerizing!

IMG_5351

Once dry, I stamped the bird and sentiment from Be Yourself in Totally Black D2BA Premium Ink.

IMG_5337

Next, I applied a touch of watercolor pencils to a few areas for deeper emphasis and even a touch of orange to the crown of his head. Lastly, I adhered the panel to an A2 folded card base topped with Fields of Joy D2BA paper and added a few shiny sequins. If birds can be attracted to them I can too, right?

Check out all D2BA’s products here! Have you entered or viewed the current D2BA challenge? The current challenge is always posted in the sidebar to the right at the top.

Thank you for popping in for a visit today. It is so greatly appreciated! I hope you’ll be continuing your day with a bit of inspiration picked up here.

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
Today, I used the Flowers for Mom set to create this:
D2B-flowers1
There are some great sentiments that come with the set, but I decided to leave it without a sentiment, so I can use it for anything.  I really LoVe the Dare 2B Artzy papers.  The patterns are so fun to mix.  The papers I used today are from the Modern Bliss collection.   One of the things I really love about these papers is that there isn’t a centimeter wasted.  The dotted pattern is the “edge” (where on the other side, the name of the papers is).  Very cool.  I finished the card off with some lace, ribbons and Nuvo Drops.
Here’s a close-up of that beautiful flower:
 D2B-flowers2
So much fun to color!  As you can see, I fussy cut and tucked another flower behind the corner.

For my card, I used the fun set Bright Birthday.  I had fun stamping a background panel, and then, I just cut it down for the layout that I wanted to use.

I totally enjoyed making this card!  I am quite thrilled with the end result too.

That is always a good thing!

Pop on over to the store and check out all the fun sets Cindy has!

Hi Dare 2B Artzy friends!

Tasha here from CraftyPinkPixie.com sharing a new summer card created with the Flip Flops stamp set!

d2ba1

To create this fun card, I made a base from white card stock and layered bright yellow pattern paper on top.

d2ba1.3

To add some sparkle, I used gold glitter paper for the center and scored the paper down the middle to allow it to bend. The gold is so pretty and looks great with the yellow!

d2ba1.5

I adhered the pull tag to the center of the card and when it’s pulled up, it reveals a hidden message! Also, both the tag and inside of the card were ink blended with summer themed colors; I love the pink!

d2ba1.2

All the images were colored with markers and layered with tons clear glitter. The little citrus rounds and fun mason jar drinks are super cute and totally makes me think of a warm summer day!

d2ba1.4

Lastly, I stamped “Happy Summer” on the bottom with Pomegranate ink; one of my favorite colors! I also attached a second drink image next to the sentiment to complete the project.

I hope you enjoyed this card and are inspired to create with the Flip Flops stamp set!
Have a wonderful day!

Hi!  My husband and I were recently surprised by our neighbor’s random act of kindness.  Our wonderful neighbor was out mowing his grass, had a little extra time, and decided to mow our lawn, too!  You should’ve seen the huge grin on my husband’s face…priceless!

As a little thank you to our neighbor and his family, I created this colorful thank you card attached to a box of locally made, delicious cookies!

Watermarked(2017-04-19-0936)

After creating the background using distress ink blending, I stamped the butterfly and flower images using Dare 2B Artzy’s Copic friendly Totally Black ink.  I colored the images from Flowers for Mom, Butterfly Inspiration, and Butterfly using the following Copic markers:
RV10, RV04, RV09
YG11, G14, G17
BG01, B04, B05
C1, C3, C4, C5
Accents were added with Sakura Glaze pens and Wink of Stella.

IMG_0678

The images were cut out using the coordinating dies for Flowers for Mom and Butterfly Inspiration!  The large flower and the butterfly were mounted using foam tape for extra dimension.

I hope our neighbors enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed creating it!  These stamps make crafting so much fun!

Happy stamping, and I hope you spread some crafty kindness this week!
