Hi, Dare 2B Artzy friends!

Tasha here from CraftyPinkPixie.com sharing two coffee treat boxes created with the Perfect Blend stamp set!

The first box used textured pink cardstock for the base/bow, and a pretty D2BA pattern paper for the top flap. The flowers add tons of color and really pop next to the soft pink!

The sentiment was stamped with D2BA ink and layered on gold glitter paper. The pink and green coordinate so well together and the gold adds just enough sparkle!

The second box was created using one piece of D2BA pattern paper and has a light blue textured bow on top.

The sentiment was stamped with D2BA ink and the edges were distressed to bring in more color.

Lastly, blue glitter paper and a bright blue rhinestone on the bow add shimmer and complete this design.

Both boxes are so cute and can hold two k-cups inside.

The top flap was held together with a velcro dot allowing the recipient to open/close, or reuse the box.

I hope you enjoyed this coffee themed project for today!

Tutorial

Step 1: Cut x1 cardstock to 4×12

Cut x2 cardstock to 1  3/4 x 2  1/4

Hello to all of you coffee loving card makers!  It’s Melody from Handmade Card Happiness and Instagram!
I am excited that Dare 2B Artzy is once again a super sponsor of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Since July is almost upon us, I decided to create a patriotic coffee card using two Dare 2B Artzy stamp sets, Perfect Blend and Cup of Cheer!

Don’t let the front of this card fool you!  Pull on the blue tab and…voila!

The cups were stamped with Totally Black Ink so I could color the images with Copic Markers!  I used the following Copics: (R14, R37, R59), (B23, B26, B99), and (C00, C3).

The stars were all created using paper punches.

The paper sizes can be found in the pdf below:
Triple Tier Slider Card

You can see a great video on how to assemble this card HERE!

Wishing you a fabulous Monday!  I hope it’s filled with great coffee!
Happy stamping…can’t wait to see what you create on the blog hop!  There are some fabulous prizes for the participants!

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!!!

Guest Designer LeeAnn, from Mimi’s Crafty Abyss, is back today to share one last card with us!!

Greetings friends and fellow crafters, LeeAnn here with a card to share with you!

Let me tell you it has been such an honor to be chosen to work with these great stamps and dies.

For this project I have gone with using the Flip Flops stamp set.

The first thing I did was prepare my base. This was made using a White A2 size 110 lb card stock and an oval cut out, followed by a piece of Seafoam layering weight with a slightly larger cut out.

Using my stamp positioner and black ink I stamped the flip flops and the sentiment. Using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in 091 Light Gray and 003 Florescent Pink I colored the flip flops. With a few well placed enamel dots on the flip flops and the ‘…’ in the sentiment, this Clean and Simple project was complete.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today. Again, thank you to D2BA for allowing me this guest designer spot.

Thank you for coming by, be sure to stop by again soon!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
Today, I am posting a card that was SO much FuN to make.   I’m going through a bit of personal issues here lately and decided to make a card just for me.  I’m going to keep this card on my desk…
Isn’t it pretty?  And the reminder to “Let it go” will be good for me.  The flower and sentiment are from the Dare 2B Artzy, Let It Go Stampset and are stamped with Totally Black ink (great for Copic or watercolor techniques).  To create this card, I smeared distress oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Iced Spruce onto my craft mat, added some water, and ran the watercolor cardstock through.  Then I put Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Peeled Paint on my craft mat and watercolored in the flower and leaves.  I took what was left on my craft sheet and flicked the paintbrush to get some splatters.  I also added some polka dots to the flower with a Kiririna Wink pen.  To embellish, I framed it on teal cardstock with a pink border die cut (with small pearls) and added some washi tape.
Here’s a close-up of that pretty flower:
Also, have you “liked” us on Facebook yet?!  You should!  There’s all kinds of beautiful inspiration.  Be sure to also check out all D2BA’s products here!

Hello and happy Wednesday! It’s Tonya with Krafty Enchantments. Hope you’re having a great week so far. I’m back today to share a new and somewhat different card creation for Dare 2B Artzy.

Last week I got the rare opportunity to leave work early and come home. It was just me and the dogs for a couple of hours. While I should have used that time wisely to clean and organize my craft space, I procraftinated (LOL!) and decided to play with my supplies instead. In the file box I keep on my desk with my “to do” stamps and goodies, I found a couple of sheets of Birch Plywood. I don’t know if you’ve ever crafted with Birch or even Balsa Wood? It comes in many different varieties for woodworking and crafts. The Birch Plywood I had comes in a sheet that’s 6 x 12 – much like you’d find a sheet of paper and is often a bit thicker than cardstock at 1/64th of an inch thick. You can find it at your local craft & hobby stores for around $2.00-9.00 depending on the size. It also comes in different thickness which is useful for various crafts and hobbies.

Previously I wouldn’t have thought to utilize this type of wood for my card making. I’d always assumed that these thin sheets of wood were very fragile, but I discovered that it’s actually pretty durable. You can cut it with scissors however, I’m not sure if it would cut with a rotary or blade paper trimmer.  You’d definitely want to use a deep, sharp blade if you’re going to cut it with a trimmer.  The cool thing about Balsa Wood is that I’ve been able to use my steel rule paper dies to cut it and haven’t had any problems.

I used a small scalloped rectangle die to cut a piece of the Birch Plywood and ran it through my Evolution die cut machine with no problems. Of course you do have to adjust your plates or machine to accommodate the thicker materials.

My card today started out very much as an experiment, but often those become the best kinds of cards. I had heat embossed on wood that was painted or stained on different occasions in the past and loved the effect that it can create so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this type of wood.  While I could have added a thin coating of Gesso to the piece of wood, I wanted to keep the natural look of it so I chose to experiment to see what would work.

I tested various embossing powders on a piece of scrap wood I had first to see the results. I found that you really have to use an embossing powder that is made for super fine detail as the Versamark ink does absorb and spread (bleed) a bit into the untreated wood. Using a fine detail powder gives a better embossed impression so I ended up using Ranger Ink’s Super Fine embossing powder in white. I paired the wood with the cool leaf from the Dare 2B Artzy Paisley Bliss stamp set. I really love the gorgeous paisley images in this set – they’re so fun and versatile.  I stamped the leaf image several times on the wood to create a background pattern, even stamping off the wood for a partial image. I stamped and then embossed each image separately to be sure to get a good impression for the heat embossing since I was worried the Versamark would be absorbed too quickly into the wood.

Once my embossing powder was set, I started to play with inks and paints to see what the various results would be on the wood.  I ended up using the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens and painting each leaf with a couple of different complimentary colors Inspired  Violet, Aquamarine, Harvest Moon and Red Berry. I wasn’t sure how the sparkle pens would react with the wood since they are water based, but they didn’t bleed much at all. The colors do look a shade darker on the wood than on paper. They dried beautifully on the wood, however they pooled up on the white embossed edge so ultimately I used a round ink blending tool and blended the colors together a bit on each leaf being careful not to get ink outside the leaf outline. Since the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens have a glitter to them, you can see a bit of sparkle on each leaf which was difficult to capture with my camera.

Once I’d finished coloring each of the leaves from the Paisley Bliss stamp set that made up my background, I was ready to add my sentiment.  I used the same scalloped rectangle die cut a piece of pink floral paper from the Artzy Doodles Variety Paper Pack and a piece of white cardstock at the same time. I really love that color of pink, it’s so pretty. I love how it kind of popped against my background of the leaves. Next I took my scalloped edge die and cut the pink Artzy Doodle paper so that it was slightly larger than the white cardstock.

My sentiment Find Your Bliss and one of small paisley stamps was stamped on the small white cardstock with Versamark and heat set with some Carnelian Embossing Powder.

I added some dimensional foam to the back of my Balsa Wood panel and adhered it to a white A2 size top folding card base.

For a finishing touch I glued on some clear crystal dew drops to the card front.

It is fun seeing a crafting experiment with different materials come to life as a completed card.  I guess I should take more afternoons off work to get crafty. Work less…play more – sounds like a good plan.

Hope you’re inspired to look around your crafty space or even on your next trip to the hobby store to see what things you can use for your next stamping & card making adventure.

Don’t forget to check out the Dare 2B Artzy store for a ton of great stamps & dies. If you’re looking for the Paisley Bliss stamps I used in today’s project you can find them here.

We are back at it for another Monday, Dare 2B Atrzy friends!!

Janette here with you today sharing what I am wishing for on these hot summer days… fresh lemonade, beautiful flowers and relaxing Adirondack style!

This Copic colored card features light masking. I first stamped the lemonade in D2BA Totally Black ink from Flip Flops stamp set and masked it. Next, the lemon, then flowers from Playful Posies to each side and last the chair in D2BA Chocolate Chip ink. Masking each as I went. Remember to stamp first what you want to appear to be in front and don’t forget your sentiment!

The Copic markers I used were R14, R46 and RV99 for the red flower. YR 12, YR16 and YR09 for the orange flower. Lemonade is in Y13, Y06, Y18, B000, B0000 and R46.

Assembly entailed matting the colored panel with black cardstock, popping panel up with fun foam over Fields of Joy Owls & Flowers paper and mounting to a folded A2 card base.

The final touches included Clear Wink of Stella over the lemonade and sparkling clear sequins because well, because SPARKLE!

Check out all D2BA’s products here! Don’t forget about the newest D2BA Challenge themed “Summer.” The current challenge is always posted in the sidebar to the right at the top.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you’ve enjoyed this project!

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!!!

Guest Designer LeeAnn, from Mimi’s Crafty Abyss, is back today to share another fun card with us!!

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here today as a guest designer with Dare 2 Be Artzy.

Today I am going to be using the On The Dock stamp set to created my project.

For my project I used the Dock image and the Subway Art sentiment, I thought they would go great together.

To begin, I used my stamp positioner to stamp the dock in the lower left corner, I then turned the stamp around and used a little masking tape to not stamp over what I already did, and stamped the image again, lining up the best I could to have the dock extend off the edge of the paper. Using Mermaid Lagoon distress ink I colored the background in a sweeping motion direct from the pad to create a lake type view with high and low spots.

Using Rusty Hinge distress ink I colored the dock running off into the water a bit to give a reflection.

Finishing up I used Memento Black to stamp the sentiment.

I’m not sure about you but this makes me want to head off to the lake right now, if only the boat wasn’t in the shop.

Thank you for coming by, please come again soon!

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy DT inspiration project with you today, a CAS beach-themed card created with the amazing Flip Flops stamp set, Midnight Blue, Margarita Lime and Paradise ink, and a thin strip of the reverse side of the Chevron paper used on the inside. I LOVE a blue and green color combo!

I stamped the beach chair in the Margarita Lime ink and the sentiment in the Midnight Blue ink. I adhered the stamped panel to some fun foam for a little dimension and layered it on a blue panel which I adhered to the card base.

2017_02250010a

Using a Spectrum Noir marker, I colored in the word “Tide” and added a few sequins matching the colors used on the inside.

Hi all, it’s Vicki Dutcher, from All I Do Is Stamp.  Today I am sharing a good bye card.

I have a co-worker who is leaving [so sad] to become a brand new stay home mom [so happy].  I am really going to miss this chick, and I wanted to give her a card to let her know that. 🙂

Using the Butterfly Kisses set, along with a sentiment from the Totally Tracy Spring Into Life helped me make the perfect card for her.

I used the direct to paper technique with my inks [I do love this look].  The nice solid stamped butterflies work well with it too [I think].

I think my co-worker will like this card.  It has the perfect sentiment for her for sure!  I hope you like it too!

See you next time~~

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
I love to color.  I really love to color the FuN images from Dare 2B Artzy, like the flowers in the Flowers for Mom stamp set.
 I colored this flower with Copic markers:  R32, R35, R37, YR12, YR14, YR16, YG00, YG03, YG06, G40, G43, G46, B12, B14, B16, RV52, RV55, C1 and C3.  Lots of Copics; lots of fun!  Here’s a close up showing the detail in this beautiful flower:

The sentiment is a die from Dare 2B Artzy, called Love You Layer Die.  The background paper is from the Fields of Joy collection.  I finished off the card with some white pearls.

Hi, Dare 2B Artzy friends!

Tasha here from CraftyPinkPixie.com sharing a fun birthday shaker card created with the “Happy Birthday Mini” and “Perfect Blend” stamp sets!

To create this card, I stamped the coffee cup and cupcake images with black ink and colored them with markers. To add sparkle, I used clear glitter on the frosting and cup holder.

The sentiment selected was “Birthday Wishes” and it was stamped in black on the holder. I was so excited that this stamp fits perfectly on the cup; being able to mix stamps sets allow you to create a larger variety of projects.

After coloring, I cut the images out and started to build the shaker. I used a rose gold glitter paper for the back and a brown plaid pattern paper for the frame. I thought these colors went with the coffee theme. Multi-colored sequins filled the shaker to add a festive look; I love these bright colors!

To finish the design, I attached the cute little cupcake to the card with foam tape and placed a coordinating scalloped frame around the shaker to give more shimmer. Lastly, I used a dark red card stock to create the square base.

I hope you enjoyed this fun coffee themed birthday card!

Have a wonderful day!

Hi!  It’s Melody from Handmade Card Happiness sharing my latest card for summer, and I’m ready for some fireworks and a barbecue!

D2BA’s Pomegranate and Midnight Blue Doodles Paper made the perfect layers for this celebratory cascading card!  I stamped the banner, Pledge of Allegiance star, and sentiments using the Pomegranate ink and the Midnight Blue ink.  The banner and Pledge of Allegiance stamps are from an earlier Dare 2B Artzy stamp set called “My Hero.”  The sentiments are from the Patriotic Owl stamp set.  The owl in that set is absolutely adorable!  I need to make a card with that owl!

13145_owlPatriotic.jpg

The stars were cut using a star punch and then adhered to the card.  The banner with the “God Bless America” sentiment was adhered to the base using a strip of acetate.
A white square of card stock trimmed with the top strip from the patterned paper created a place to write a message to the recipient…maybe even an invitation to a holiday barbeque!

I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer!  Head over to my blog for more details! Don’t forget to enter June’s Summer Card Challenge for a chance to win a stamp set and ink pad of your choosing!

We would love to see any of your creations using Dare 2B Artzy products on Instagram!  Be sure to use #dare2bartzy so we can be inspired by you!

Happy Sunday Crafty Friends!!!

We have a new Guest Designer for the month of June!!

Please help us give a warm welcome to LeeAnn, from Mimi’s Crafty Abyss!!

First, let’s learn a little bit more about this talented designer:

My name is LeeAnn and I live in Central Florida. I am a wife, mom, and Mimi. I love spending my time in craft room creating cards for friends, family, and the local children’s hospitals. I attended a scrapbook party in 1998 and with 3 active daughters was immediately hooked. I became a consultant for several years then with life’s twists and turns I got away from my crafting. 10 years later I received news that I was going to be a Mimi and the crafting bug came back and has been very strong since. I am very excited for this opportunity to work with Dare 2 B Artzy as it is one of the teams I have longed to work with. Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy my projects.

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here today in my guest spot with Dare 2 Be Artzy. I really have had a great time with these stamps and dies, and appreciate the opportunity to work with them.
Today I used the Flip Flops stamp and die sets in my project.

In order to make this project, I first ran the top half of my card topper through my Big Shot inside a Darice embossing folder to get the cloud feature. I stamped the chair on a piece of green cardstock and then ran it through the big shot as well using the die from the set.

When this was complete I used Tumbled Glass distress ink to create the cloudy sky. I used Dried Marigold to create the beach sand look and Mermaid Lagoon to create the water. With a swiping back and forth motion I created it to appear there were white caps on the water as the tide was coming in. With a big wave of the water washing over the the shoreline. I used Bahama blue to stamp the sentiment and cut with my trimmer to size, adhered with foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and I really think this needs to be a beach day.

Hi Chris here and we have been swamped with graduations!  All three of my kids graduated! My oldest from College, my middle from Junior College and my youngest from 8th grade!  Needless to say lots of their friends graduated as well.  So…. I needed LOTS and LOTS of graduation cards! I chose a simple design that was easy to recreate!

Supplies needed:

Dare 2B Artzy Paisley Bliss

Dare 2B Artzy You’ve Got Mail

Dare 2B Artzy Midnight Blue Premium Ink

This card is super quick and easy and could be recreated in your graduates school colors.

Mask off location for greeting.  Stamp Paisley Bliss around card.

Remove mask and Stamp Greeting fromYou’ve Got Mail and the Card is finished!

Hope you are inspired to get stamping!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
The Dare 2B Artzy Cupcake Background Die is so perfect for quick birthday cards.  Here’s how I used it:

Cute huh?  I love the fun detail.  I ran it through my Big Shot twice – once in the light green and once in purple.  I then cut the cupcake base from a scrap of the blue.  I had a sheet of adhesive behind the large green die cut, so I just stuck it down on the blue, stamped the sentiment on the cupcake base and glued it down.  I took the “negative” from the purple and added some purple frosting onto my cupcake.  I added some twine and sequins along with a button – and done!
Here’s a close-up:

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Tonya here from Krafty Enchantments.  I hope you are having a great week so far. I’m back today to share another card I created using some of my favorite Dare 2B Artzy stamps.

Today’s card features the feathers from the Dare 2B Artzy Dream Catcher stamp set and the matching feather dies and the Swirls Background stamp set.

Like most of my projects I started off by playing and experimenting. This time I was playing with my Color Burst Powders. If you’re not familiar with Color Burst powders, they are concentrated micro fine water color powders and they are so much fun to play with. They are very forgiving also so if you’re intimidated by water colors, give these a try.

I used the Tangerine and Fuchsia Color Burst Powders and poofed them onto a piece of heavy cardstock. When I refer to poofing I’m talking about squeezing the bottle so that a small poof of the powder comes out onto the paper. A little goes a long way with these powders so you don’t need too much.

With the powder on the paper, I used a spray bottle and thoroughly covered the cardstock with the water to activate the powder and blend the colors. When I’m using these powders I find that it’s easier to put a cloth underneath in order to dab off the puddles of liquid that pool and roll off the cardstock. To set the colors you can allow the panel to dry on its own or you can use a heat gun to speed up the drying.

At this point you can add more Color Burst to the panel if you’re not satisfied with the coverage or blending of colors. You can just keep repeating the process of powder, water and drying as long as you’ve used a heavy weight cardstock or water color paper that can handle the water.

With my panel completely dried, I added some heat embossed swirls using the Swirls background stamp and some Carnelian orange embossing powder to give it a tone on tone look. I really love this Swirls background stamp and I think it looks amazing with this tone on tone effect. I die cut the whole piece with a larger rectangle die with rounded edges.

For my base panel, I stamped the various feathers onto the outside edge of a dark blue piece of a scalloped die cut cardstock using some Ranger Perfect Medium and then brushed on some Perfect Pearls Powders. The colors of Perfect Pearls that I used were Turquoise, Sour Apple and Forever Violet.  The powders really pop against the dark cardstock. I love the shimmer against the blue background.

However, Perfect Pearls are not smudge proof so I used some Krylon Spray Fixative and sprayed a coat over the entire panel to set the Perfect Pearls. I set the piece aside to dry for about 15 minutes.

I added my sentiment using some Sapphire blue embossing powder on a piece of white cardstock and die cut it with another one of my funky rounded square dies.

I wanted bring of bit of the background to the foreground of my card. I used some dark cardstock and stamped one of the feathers from the Dream Catcher stamp set with the Perfect Medium again and added some Perfect Pearls to it and die cut it out using the matching Dare 2B Artzy feather dies. I added some spray fixative to it to set the Perfect Pearls.

After the fixative was dry, I was ready to assemble the card. I added dimensional foam to all 3 layers and adhered them to each other on top of a white cardstock card base. I added the die cut feather to the edge of my sentiment.

Of course I had to add some bling to the card so I added some iridescent sequins to the card front. I was excited to use a new tool to aid in picking up the pesky sequins that I always seem to drop and get everywhere. The tool is called a Jewel Picker from Marvy and it works great for picking up sequins and small embellishments as it has a sticky rubber-like end on both sides that picks them up very easily!

I love how this card turned out. The bright colors and the shimmer from the Perfect Pearls makes my day.  I hope that it brightens your day as well and that you’re inspired to try out some different products or techniques on your next Dare 2B Artzy project.

Check out the Dare 2B Artzy store for these stamp sets and many others for all your crafting needs. Also, don’t forget that we have a new challenge that started this last weekend. It’s a summer theme so be sure to submit a fun summer themed project and you could win a stamp and ink pad of your choice from Dare 2B Artzy! Details are on the Dare 2B Artzy blog here.

Good Monday to you, Dare 2B Atrzy friends!!

Janette here sharing with you two fun birthday balloon cards!

Today’s featured technique is masking. So easy with simple shapes – and coloring with Zig markers makes this card a snap. I use full stick Post-It notes, normally in just the standard size. Leave 3 or so layers together, stamp your image onto them, and fussy cut the stack together.

Next, begin by stamping a few Birthday Balloons on your paper that do not touch. I prefer to use Bristol paper when working with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. It is smooth and keeps the ink on top of the paper, for easy blending, before it dries at a normal rate. Then mask and stamp an overlapping image. Only mask the images that will interfere with your next image. Remember that the images you stamp first will appear to be in the front.

I began by laying a thick line of color to the bottom left of each balloon, and then blended up to the right with a water brush filled with clear water. Achieve the watercolor blooms by adding small drops of clear water where you would like a highlight. My paper was 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. I filled the whole page, colored it and then trimmed it for 2 cards. Heat emboss the birthday sentiment and add a few sequins for sparkle!

Check out all D2BA’s products here! Don’t forget about the newest D2BA Challenge themed “Summer.” The current challenge is always posted in the sidebar to the right at the top.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you pop back in soon for more amazing inspiration!
