Happy Sunday, crafty friends! Guest designer, Leslie Turner from Love To Scrap 2, is back with us today to share another card!

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy GD inspiration project with you today, a fun CAS friendship card using the Perfect Blend stamp set Coffee Cup die, scraps from several papers from the Artzy Doodles Variety Paper Pack and Totally Black ink. I’m absolutely loving this October guest designer gig and playing with more D2BA stamps!

I know I said the card I created for my last post was one of the most fun cards I’ve made in a while, but this one runs a close second. Super fun and super easy! And yep, you guessed it… another clean and simple creation! I shied away from them for so long, now I can’t get enough of them, lol! I stuck with the October challenge theme of Fall Colors and used Halloween colors of black, orange, purple and green! I prepared the card base and rounded the lower right corner. I cut a strip of white cardstock and rounded the two right-hand corners, then layered it on green cardstock and adhered it to the card base for a little interest.

I stamped the coffee cup three times on a small piece of cardstock and cut each one with the coffee cup die. I stamped the coffee cup again on small scraps from three of the papers in the Artzy Doodles Variety Paper Pack, making sure to get the cup wrapper centered on the scrap. I fussy cut each cup wrapper and adhered them to the white die cut coffee cups. I stamped a sentiment on one of them, then adhered them with foam pads to the front. I finished the card with dots of English Mustard Crystal Drops and a few Pewter sequins.

For more details and additional photos, please see my blog post at Love To Scrap 2.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and will link up a creation with us this month using Fall Colors! Be sure to check out all the fun stamps, dies, inks and papers at Dare2BArtzy! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time!

Have you begun to think about your holiday cards?!

D2BA has so many lovely holiday sets to work with!  You can check them out here, under the Seasonal Stamps section!

Today I am featuring one of the first stamp sets I fell in love with when I was first introduced to D2BA!  It still remains to be one of my favorite winter sets to work with!

I absolutely love the gorgeous snowflakes in the Snowflake Wishes stamp set!!

I started by first die cutting the snowflake die from my white cardstock layer!  I then stamped some of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set to my liking around the edges!

Leaving room for the lovely ‘Snowflakes are unique…just like You.’ sentiment from the stamp set as well!!

So fun and beautiful!!

Doesn’t have to be a Christmas card, can be used to just put a smile on someone’s face during the cold winter months!!

Fall Colors!

For my project today I was thinking about another simple gift I could give friends or family for the holidays. I have a few list makers in my life (me included) so I decided to create this little note book all set and ready for list making. I used the Big bloom set to make the list pages on light weight copy paper and the cover on watercolor paper.

Once I had all the pieces I colored up the front cover, with Copics of course 😉,

And put it all together! I know exactly who is going to get this handy little notebook and she will LOVE it!

I have all the colors I used and a few tips for stamping the list pages as well as working with Copics on the watercolor paper over at my blog. If you have a chance stop by and wave hello.

Two other stops you will want to make –

Thank you so much for joining me today!

Have a happy colorful day!

Hello and happy Wednesday Dare 2B Artzy friends! Tonya from checking in with you today. Hope everyone is having a good week. It is a short work week for me as I’m taking a couple of days off this week so I have been swamped which makes the week go by quickly, but then I am almost too tired to enjoy my time off. m sure some of you can relate.

I am here to share my latest Dare 2B Artzy creation featuring the Poinsettia Tangle Stamp set. If you haven’t already grabbed this stamp set, I highly recommend it. It has a gorgeous large poinsettia tangle stamp and some leaves as well as a smaller solid poinsettia. The sentiments alone make this stamp a must have.

For my card today, I was intrigued by the alcohol ink technique that Jennifer McGuire shared last week. I hadn’t ever tried any alcohol ink techniques before and had some free time last weekend. I purchased a few inks and some paper and spent the afternoon playing.

I can honestly say that this is absolutely my new favorite technique and the results it produces are absolutely beautiful.

To work with alcohol inks, you will need some glossy cardstock or paper made specifically for alcohol inks. I purchased the Ranger Ink multi-pack of paper which has 10 sheets each of glossy, matte and a silver cardstock that is pre-cut to A2 size. I got mine on sale at Michaels for about $6.00. Yupo paper also works for this technique. I also purchased a multi-pack of the Alcohol inks in 3 different colors, some Alcohol Ink Blending solution and some mixative paints in Silver. In addition I used some supplies I had at home which included a small paint brush, rubbing alcohol, small glass jar, craft mat or something you don’t care if it gets messed up.  Even a sheet of aluminum foil would work.

NOTE: Please make sure you are in a well ventilated room with a window or fan going before you work with these inks.

I selected a piece of the glossy card stock and selected two ink colors, Patina which is sort of a green color and the Flamingo which is a bright pink.

The keys to keep in mind with the alcohol inks is that they dry incredibly quickly on paper (seriously)! They also can be layered and reactivated. So don’t be intimidated if you aren’t happy with something at first and keep working at it.

I started by squirting a few drops of the ink onto the glossy card stock. The ink starts to spread out and absorb into the cardstock. As it’s spreading you can layer in more ink colors, add some varying colors. The real fun is adding in blending solution and or rubbing alcohol. Blending solution makes the ink move more and rubbing alcohol lightens the color of the ink and pushes it away.

Once I had a fair amount of ink on my cardstock, some of it was starting to dry (in under 30 seconds). I reactivated it by adding more color and adding in some of the Ranger Blending Solution and one of the mixatives. I chose the Silver. Before using the mixative colors you need to shake them very well. They have the little balls inside to mix up the inks as they don’t have the same properties as the alcohol inks. I dropped a few drops of silver onto the paper with my ink and used my paint brush and the blending solution and some alcohol and started moving it around on my paper.

Wherever it pooled up and I didn’t like the way it looked I’d just add in either a bit more color or dab at the spots with my paint brush and rubbing alcohol.

This technique is so forgiving. I actually started out with a bunch of big ink circles that had dried on my paper so quickly. It looked terrible and I almost tossed it out.  I didn’t want to give up so easily and figured what’s the worst that could happen if I just kept adding more inks, mixatives and blending solution on top of my ink circles. The specialty paper is also very forgiving as it can handle a lot of ink and it doesn’t warp or tear. It is really a pretty fool proof technique.

It is difficult to see it from the pictures but the Silver mixative created a beautiful silver marbling effect in with the ink on the paper. It is so beautiful in real life I’m so glad I didn’t throw it out. The ink dries into the cardstock and it retains its glossy texture. I can not even tell you how stunning it really looks and the camera does not capture that. I decided that the background, though not the traditional colors would make a beautiful non-traditional Christmas card. I just love non-traditional colors used for Christmas cards and decorations.

I know some people will be concerned about the Alcohol inks and their staining properties. I used a Ranger craft mat and it did get a fair amount of ink on it, but I used a baby wipe with some rubbing alcohol added to it and was able to get it out. I was also able to use some Germ-x hand sanitizer for the alcohol that I got on my hands and it came out pretty well (I actually keep a bottle at my craft desk because it takes a lot of things off your hands). You could also utilize  rubbing alcohol or the blending solution if you happen to get ink onto your clothes.

Once my paper was completely dry, I cut it down using a scalloped edge die and added a second silvery colored layer of cardstock underneath which I also cut with a pierced edge die.

For the beautiful Dare 2B Artzy Tangle Poinsettia, I stamped it with some Versamark and heat embossed with some fine detail silver embossing powder.

Next I tried to match my Copic markers to the pink in the background and colored the poinsettia. Once it was colored I fussy cut the poinsettia out. There is also a poinsettia die available for this stamp set, but I don’t happen to have it.

I added my background to a top folding card base made from some Neenah Solar White cardstock in 110lb.

I stamped and heat embossed my favorite sentiment from the set, Wishing You Joy in Every Merry Moment. That’s so cute, I just love that sentiment.

To finish, I added a few white pearls to the front of my card.

I highly recommend trying your hand at alcohol ink techniques. I hope to share some more techniques using alcohol inks in the future.

Be sure to head over to the Dare 2B Artzy store to pick up this Poinsettia Tangle stamp and die set as well as many other gorgeous Christmas stamps.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful crafty day!

Good Morning Dare 2B Artzy Friends!

I was looking out my window this week and I noticed we have a bush in our backyard that attracts tons of butterflies.  So I used that as my inspiration in designing todays card.  The Dare 2B Artzy stamp set called Butterfly Inspiration is just so beautiful and perfect for the card I had in mind.  I did a card with a tag that has been inked with the new Oxide inks and an embossed resist.

Design Steps:

  1. Use an A2 white card base and cut a slightly smaller piece of DP from the Dare 2B Artzy Doodle Variety pack. Glue the DP to the white card base
  2. Use a large tag and stamp with the Dare 2B Artzy Playful Poises stamp set with Versa Mark ink.  Emboss with white embossing powder.  Heat set the powder
  3. Using Oxide inks sponge on yellow, orange and red splatter with water and then heat set
  4. Angle the tag and use dimension dots to mount to the card front
  5. Stamp the butterfly using the Dare 2B Artzy Butterfly Inspiration stamp set.  Color with watercolor pencils.
  6. Stamp the sentiment on vellum with Versa Mark ink and emboss with black powder.  Heat set the powder and attach the sentiment to the card as shown.
  7. Use dimension dots to attach the butterfly and also add the white bow

I love how the embossed resist turned out and it looks really great with the designer paper.

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! Guest designer, Leslie Turner from Love To Scrap 2, is back with us today to share another card!

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy GD inspiration project with you today, a fun CAS birthday card using the Birthday Balloons stamp set with coordinating Balloon die that comes with the stamp set. I’m having a blast being back as a guestie for the month of October!

This was probably one of the most fun cards I’ve made in a while. It’s super simple and really packs a big punch! As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been creating more clean and simple cards which have always been a challenge for me. I stamped the balloon cluster, strings and stars on the front of the card base. Can you believe it… yes, this is a one-layer card! LOL! I then stamped three individual balloons in different colors on a smaller piece of cardstock and cut each of them with the balloon die.

I colored the balloons  and the stars with a Crystal Clear Sparkle marker which gave them a really pretty shimmer. I finished the front of the card with a few sequins. Yes, I am a sequin freak too, lol! And didn’t this turn out just darling?!

For more details and additional photos, please see my blog post at Love To Scrap 2.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project and will link up a creation with us this month! Be sure to check out all the fun stamps, dies, inks and papers at Dare2BArtzy! Thanks so much for stopping by today – we’ll see you next time!

Scrappy hugs,

Hi Chris here and today I am excited to share this layout I created for Dare 2B Artzy Stamps!  Marching Band has been a huge part of my kids’ high school careers! (Carrying on the family tradition!)  So I was super excited to find these Marching Band Stamps in the D2BA store!

I paired the stamps with D2BA Totally Black Premium Ink and Winter Plaid papers!  I love when I can use my stamps for scrapbooking.

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
I’ve been on a kick lately of using stamps in non-traditional ways.  That’s what I did for my card today.  I used the Be There or Be Square stamps for this Christmas Card.
I used Copic YG61 and YG63 for the leaves, colored the flowers with R24, R27 and R29, and filled in the background with B00.  I stamped the flower square twice, and then fussy cut the three flowers to use as embellishments.  The “blank” square was perfect for the sentiment that I got from the Penguin Fun stamps.  The paper is from the Holly Days Paper Collection.
Here’s a close-up of those FuN flowers.  As you can see, I curled the edges a bit with my finger.
Love it!  Have you “liked” us on Facebook yet?!  You should!  There’s all kinds of beautiful inspiration.  Be sure to also check out all D2BA’s products here!

Craftily yours,

Hi all, it’s Vicki here.  Today, I am showing you a dog sympathy card.  I like to send these out to my friends when they lose a 4-legged friend.

I used the adorable Puppy Talk stamp set, along with Pet Sympathy‘s paw print and sentiment.

I just love this guy!  He is really fun to color too.  I used Copics for this card.

Just FYI, there are also cat sets.

See you later this month~

Hello D2BA Friends!

Tasha here sharing a fun new Halloween treat bag created with the “Good Witch Shoes” stamp set!

The bag base was created with light blue cardstock and I used some bat pattern paper to give it a spooky look; I love the purple and black color combo! The sentiment was stamped in a coordinating purple ink and I layered it onto gold glitter paper. The gold frame looks great against the dark background!

The cool shoe image was stamped in black and colored with markers. I also added tons of glitter on top for extra sparkle and shine. Lastly, I added some white gel accents and three green glitter enamel dots to complete the project. I can not wait to give this to someone special!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create a Halloween project with the

awesome “Good Witch Shoes” stamp set!

Have a wonderful day!

Hi, Stampers!  It’s Melody from Handmade Card Happiness and Instagram!
Thanks for checking out my Dare 2B Artzy owl card today!

It seems like I just can’t resist a fun play on words, and one of the sentiments in this adorable set certainly made me smile!

I began by stamping the images from the Hoot Hoot Stamp Set with Dare 2B Artzy’s Totally Black Ink as it is Copic friendly.  I colored the images with the following Copic markers: (YG03, YG17, G99), (B21, B24, B28), (E31, E35, E37), and (Y17, YR04, YR09).

After adding a few touches with a Sakura Glaze #849 pen, I was ready to cut out the owl and the branch with the coordinating Hoot Owl Die Set.  The Bright Pumpkin paper provided the perfect layer for a fall colored card!

If you need a quick card, check out the Hoot Hoot Paper Pack.  The great thing about the Hoot Owl Die Set is that it cuts out the stamped images as well as the owls on the Hoot Hoot Paper!  I don’t know about you, but I love when my craft supplies do double duty!

Dare 2B Artzy’s October Challenge is to create a new project using fall colors.  You can check out the challenge HERE for a chance to win a stamp set and ink pad of your choice!

Happy stamping!

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! We have a new guest designer for the month of October!

Please help us give a warm welcome to Leslie Turner from Love To Scrap 2!

Hi, my name is Leslie Turner. I’m married with two grown children and one granddaughter, and I live in beautiful Colorado. I began scrapbooking about 40 years ago, way back when scrapbooks were really bland – before all the fun papers and embellishments came about. For the last 20 years or so, my paper passion has been card making. I started out making computer-generated cards, graduated to card kits, then quickly realized that having my own stash of stuff was the way to go! The rest is history, as they say! I’m addicted to rubber stamping and also enjoy making 3-D paper projects, especially paper shoes and mini albums. I’ve been known to alter a few tins and boxes, and enjoy beading and making jewelry occasionally when I find time. I’m absolutely thrilled to be back as a guest designer for Dare 2B Artzy!

Hi everyone! Leslie here to share a Dare2BArtzy GD inspiration project with you today, a get well card using the Restore the Soul stamp set and the Duck/Fish die set. I’m totally stoked to be back as a guestie for the month of October!

I used a color palette to coincide with the October “Fall Colors” challenge – brown, red, orange, yellow, green and purple. I’ve been getting my feet more and more wet with clean and simple cards lately. CAS has always been a challenge for me because I love colors, layers and big bows! I stamped the cattails and sentiment in Rich Cocoa ink on the card front, and then stamped the mama and baby duck twice on a smaller piece of cardstock. I used the coordinating die to cut the ducks from the first image and the mama duck’s wing from the second image. I colored both pieces and adhered the wing to the mama duck with a dimensional pad.

I adhered mama and her baby to the card front, then colored the water. I layered the panel on yellow cardstock and then adhered it to the card base. I added ripples in the water with White Blizzard Crystal Drops and some randomly placed dots at the top with Dark Walnut Crystal Drops.

Scrappy hugs,

Michelle Houghton here from to share a fun stamping project with you!

If you have not heard we have a new challenge going on for the month of October. Fall colors is the name of the game, check out all the Design Team inspiration, grab some crafting gear and play!

I decided to make some bookmarks for Christmas gifts that I can give friends. Bookmarks are easy and fun to mass produce.

I decided to make them out of watercolor paper and use my Copics. I know that you might have heard that Copics should not be used on watercolor, but guess what? They are GORGEOUS on watercolor paper. The issue is this paper absorbs moisture, that is the way that it holds watercolor. So it eats up ink. Now that can be an issue, but I have refills and love coloring so away I go!

Here is a close up of the Copic so you can see how pretty the color looks on the watercolor paper:

And here is the full bookmark:

I have full details on the project over at my blog if you would like to see more!

Here are the D2BA products I used for the bookmarks:

Have a Happy Colorful Week!

Hello and thanks for stopping by! It’s Tonya from Krafty and I’m back today with a fun Halloween shaker card project for Dare 2B Artzy. My card today uses the super cute Haunted House stamp set and House Die from Dare 2B Artzy. The house die set I used works with all 4 varieties of Dare 2B Artzy house stamp sets which is just part of what makes Dare 2B Artzy so cool.

For the shaker card, I started by stamping the Haunted House onto some white cardstock with Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black ink and coloring it some spooky looking colors using my Copic Markers.

Once the house was completely colored, I die cut it using the House Die and added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to the roof and headstone. I set aside the cardstock that I cut the house from so that I can use it later to help me center the die cut house.

Next, I cut two pieces of grey cardstock. One piece of cardstock 4 ¼ x 5 ½ and another cut to 4 ¼ by 11 and scored to be a top folding card base.

For the single A2 size cardstock, I sponged on some inks in blue, purple, black and just a touch of pink until the entire card front was covered in ink. Using the base cardstock in grey helps to darken the colors I sponged on which helped set the tone for the spooky dark night.

When my sponging was completed, I stamped the cloud and some bats from the Dare 2B Artzy Haunted House set with some Versamark and then heat embossed them with some dark blue embossing powder. Next, I stamped the BOO sentiment with some Versamark and used some Ultrafine White embossing powder.

I placed the die cut negative into my MISTI on top of my front panel that I just sponged and placed the die into the negative space and centered it on the front so that I’d be able to center the die properly on my card front. Once in place I slipped the die cut house into the center and held it there while I removed the negative and replaced the die and taped it in place.

I was then able to run the panel through my die cut machine. With the front panel cut, I was ready to add a piece of acetate to the back of the panel and adhered it with some score-tape.

With my little colored Haunted House centered on scored card front, I used some dimensional foam and built a little wall around my image using two layers of foam. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that you want to build a barrier to keep the sequins inside the area. It’s a bit of a challenge with shaped images. Once I felt like I had enough foam tape in place, I used my EK Success powder tool and brushed powder around the inside of the foam tape to keep the shaker items from sticking to the foam tape.

I added some pretty orange, purple and black iridescent sequins into the center of the shaker.

I peeled off all the coverings from the foam tape and placed my card front over the top of the image so that it showed through the shaker window. If I were perfect, the placement of the front window would have gone smoothly the first time. Of course I’m not so it was a bit off center. To fix the issue I used some glue that dries clear and some Nuvo ultra fine black glitter and I outlined the die cut window to that it would camouflage the foam tape. I think it worked pretty well.

I used a black Copic marker and went around all the edges of the card so that the edges would match with the darker colors of the card. Then I went back and sponged on a bit of black and purple ink around the edges to finish it off.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment You’ve Been Spooked.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my Halloween inspired shaker card. This Dare 2B Artzy stamp set is so fun and for those of you that are thinking about Christmas cards, there is an adorable Gingerbread house stamp set that could be made a fun Christmas shaker. You can check out all of the Dare 2B Artzy house stamps over on Dare 2B Artzy’s online store HERE

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
Today, I decided to do something with the super fun Hoot Hoot Owl stamps and their coordinating dies.  I used one of my favorite paper lines, Artzy Doodles Variety Pack.  This collection is a must-have!  It’s so versatile for year-round crafting.  Here’s what I made:
I colored this CuTe owl with the following Copic markers:  E41, E42, E43, R27, R29, B93, B95, YR14 and YR16.  I kept it clean and simple with an Artzy Doodles background, a circle that was embossed and a sentiment.
The dies cut so close that it almost looks like fussy cutting!  Here’s a close-up

Craftily yours,

Hi D2BA friends!

Tasha here sharing a fun new Halloween pop-up card!

The base was created with purple cardstock and I layered black glitter paper and orange D2BA pattern paper to add tons of shimmer and color!

The spooky haunted house image was stamped in black and colored it with markers. I wanted it to stand out, but since I had to keep it flat, I layered it on black glitter paper. This background reminds me of a night sky.

The sentiment “Trick or Treat” was embossed in white and I added several green-glitter enamel dots for additional texture. I love the look and feel of embossed lettering on cards!

To gift this card, you just slide the center down and it lays flat; perfect for mailing!

Lastly, I added some coordinating paper layers on each side panel! Love this orange pattern paper print!

I hope you enjoyed this Halloween project and be sure to check out the D2BA Shop for fun fall themed stamps!

Have a wonderful day!

Happy first Monday of Fall, Stampers!
It’s Melody from Handmade Card Happiness and Instagram!
As you know, I’m a gal who loves a bright color or two, but today I’m sharing a card completely done in black and white!

I began by stamping flowers from Flowers for Mom and Wishing Happiness with a WOW! Embossing Pad onto black card stock which I had prepared with an embossing buddy.  I stamped the flower in the upper left corner of the card twice as the coordinating die set allows the cutting of multiple flower layers. The flowers and leaves were then embossed with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder.

The dies cut out the images perfectly!  I was then able to use foam tape to create layered dimension on the flower shown above.  Stamping a sentiment from the Flowers for Mom set with Totally Black Ink completed my card.  I am blessed to have many friends to whom I could send this card!  The terrific part is that I can make several of these cards as they can be created in a short amount of time!

Please don’t forget to enter your cards in this month’s Dare 2B Artzy Challenge!  The next challenge begins on Sunday, and I don’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to win a stamp set and ink pad of your choice!

Happy stamping!
