Ruza here again today from Ruza’s Craft Corner to share one last card with us as a Guest Designer! ! We sure have enjoyed her lovely work!!
I stamped one of the three penguins from the set several times using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and Copic Markers were used to color them. Using the coordinating dies I cut out one of the penguins. I fussy cut the other images I colored to create a 3D effect for the hat, scarf, and nose. I put the adorable penguin on the sled which I cut out with the coordinating die.
I ripped white card stock to create my snowy hills. I layered the snowy hills on DP from the D2BA Holly Days Collection Paper Pack. I placed the adorable penguin on his sled without adhering it to see where I wanted to add the sentiment. Once the “snow much fun it is to ride” sentiment was added, I used 3D Foam Tape the place the penguin on his sled. I then applied Crystal Stickles to the snowy hills.
I finished the inside of my card with another penguin and the “warm holiday wishes” sentiment.
Have a great day!
Hi Chris here and I am so excited to share this adorable Christmas Card! I just love these new stamps and papers from Dare 2B Artzy!
I started by matting my Holly Days paper onto coordinating card stock and attaching it to my card base.
I then stamped my Poinsettia Tangle stamp onto a piece of dictionary paper with the Pomegranate ink.
If you are an avid book person like me, and have a hard time tearing a page out a book I have a little hint for you…. go to your dollar store and buy a cheap dictionary…then you won’t feel guilty for tearing out the pages.
I then fussy cut the stamped image and matted onto the coordinating red card stock and then fussy cut the matted image. I added some liquid pearls to the center of my poinsettia and added the flower to my card, tucking in a few die cut holly leaves.
I then stamped my greeting and double matted the greeting into a banner and attached to the card. I topped the poinsettia off with a coordinating ribbon bow.
So…. what have you stamped lately?
I started by stamping one of the ornaments from the set onto white cardstock three times with Memento Cottage Ivy Ink, and then cut each ornament out with the coordinating die. The dies are so easy to use and only the smallest amount of the white cardstock was visible once done. Using a dauber I went around the edges of the ornaments with my ink to get rid of the white. A Gold Marker was used to color in the poinsettias on each of the ornaments, and a Silver Marker was used for the hanging portion of the ornament.
The ornaments were hung by string on top of each other going down the side of the DP from D2BA using 3D Foam Tape. I cut out five thank you sentiments from white cardstock using one of my dies, glued them together with Tombow Mono-Liquid All Purpose Glue, colored the sentiment with the Silver Marker, and added it to my design. To even out the distribution on my card 3 Silver Enamel Dots were added. My design was then adhered to the card base with 3D Foam Tape.
Have a great day!
I hope everyone enjoyed my post and there is still time to enter our Thanks Challenge so get those cards in and you could be the next winner!!
Hi Dare 2B Artzy fans! I’m back today to share my Christmas tag that I created using the Dare 2B Artzy Poinsettia Tangle stamp.
I don’t know about you but I’m going through two different frames of mind about the holidays:
1. Panic – there are only 39 days left until Christmas (I’m kind of freaking out about this one since I’ve not done any shopping!!)
2. Disappointment – its 70 degrees here in Colorado which is very unseasonable and is not inspiring me to get into a holiday state of mind (much less inspiring me to do any holiday shopping).
My tag today features the gorgeous Poinsettia Tangle stamp which is a new release this year with Dare 2B Artzy. This stamp set features 4 image stamps and 4 sentiment stamp sets.
To start, I stamped and heat embossed the poinsettia and the holly leaves with some champagne embossing powder. I really love this stamp and I wanted to create something that didn’t have the standard colors for a poinsettia. I dug out my Zig Clean Color water color brush pens and did a little water coloring. I started with a couple different colors of red and then blended it out to a couple shades of purple with the lightest being a lavender purple at the tips. I love how the red mixed in some areas with the purple and made a sort of deep burgundy color. I heat set the water coloring to see if there were areas that needed more color or blending after it was dry and then went back in and added some more red and purple. I love the Zig pens for this reason, its super easy to layer colors to make them brighter or even go back in and blend out the colors more by adding a bit more water. The paper I used was Canson 140lb water color paper.
Once I was happy with the result, I fussy cut the poinsettia and the holly leaves which was a bit tricky with the water color paper due to the thickness, but they came out ok. After everything was cut out, I added some red gems to the center of the poinsettia to give it some extra pop.
With the colors of the poinsettia being very vibrant, I decided to put them against a black background. I used a tag that I’d had. This is actually a chalkboard tag but it worked well for this project. I misted my tag with a layer of shimmer spray in a blue to give it a subtle shimmer.
I added a strip of red and gold Washi tape off to one side. I layered on the holly leaves and the poinsettia using some dimensional foam.
The words Merry Christmas were die cut from some glittered purple cardstock and glued in place on my tag.
The final touch was tying on a piece of gold and black ribbon.
I thought I could use this for a gift tag on a special gift this year for Christmas and I could either use some chalk to put the To/From on the back or I might be able to find a nice metallic marker that I could use as well.
I hope you’ll check out the Dare 2B Artzy store today. There are so many great seasonal stamps and dies that would be perfect for all your holiday card making & crafting needs. Also, if you have any friends and family that love to craft and make cards, think of what a wonderful gift a fun stamp set from Dare 2B Artzy would be for that perfect crafty friend! You could even pair it with some papers and ink for an awesome gift pack.
Also, we still have our Thanks Challenge going on through the end of November. We’d love to see what inspiration you have for this challenge and let us know what you’re thankful for in your life.
I won’t have another project to share until after the Thanksgiving Holiday so I want to wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hope you enjoy the holiday with your family and friends. I will be spending it with my husband, my mom and step-dad. I’m looking forward to the long weekend and some quiet time to reflect on my many blessings and the people that I’m thankful to have in my life. Enjoy your day!
Hi crafters! Monica here sharing a Dare 2B Artzy card. I used Butterfly Tangle by taking one of the and embossing it with white embossing powder (fine). The image is perfect even for the finer details.
Happy Saturday D2BA Fans!!
We are so excited to have a guest designer sharing some lovely inspiration with us this month!!
Are you ready for this month’s guest designer?!
You’re going to love her beautiful work!!
Please give a warm welcome to…..
My name is Ruza and I share my creations over at Ruza’s Craft Corner. I’m a stay-at-home mom to a Special Needs young lady in Northern Illinois. I’ve been crafting since I was a young child, and when I became a “SAHM” 7-years ago I turned to crafting. Creating cards, altering items, and just having fun with paper and Copic Markers, Watercolor Markers, Pencils, etc. It is an amazing hobby that I truly love. I’m very grateful that I have a husband that supports me, a son that loves seeing and receiving my creations, and that my special young lady enjoys getting into my crafts (sometimes). I truly love the challenge of making something beautiful with the various products available in the crafting industry, and I honored that Dare 2B Artzy invited me to be a Guest Designer this month. Their collection of stamps and coordinating dies are amazing, and so fun and easy to work with.
I stamped one of the three penguins from the set several times using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and Copic Markers were used to color them. Using the coordinating dies I cut out one of the penguins. I then fussy cut out each section of the “ugly sweater” and layered them back together using my Xyron Sticker Maker. Just so you have an idea what I’m talking about … you have the full sweater plus bow-tie, next is the sweater and bow (no sleeves), with the final portion just being the bow-tie. This adds a little more dimension to the card that is more noticeable in person because you can feel the texture.
I put the adorable penguin on some icebergs. I positioned and stamped the bottom iceberg on my card, and added the Sweater Weather Sentiment at the same time with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then stamped two more icebergs and cut one out with the coordinating die, and fussing cut the second one as I only wanted a portion of the iceberg. Color was added with my Copic Markers. Tumbled Glass Distress Ink was added above the iceberg on my card, and then using 3D Foam Squares I added the other icebergs and the adorable penguin to my card.
The penguins in this set are so adorable, and I look forward to creating more projects with them.
What a lovely card!!!
We are so excited to have you designing with us this month Ruza!!
Have a great day!!
Instead of using a standard sized card, I cut a piece of cardstock at 11″ x 5.5″. I then scored at 4.25″ and again at 8.5″. Then I taped the small flap inside to create a pocket for cash. Here’s a look:
