Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
I absolute adore penguins.  The Dare 2B Artzy Penguin Fun stamps are perfect!  So many cute options.  Today, I paired them with the Dare 2B Artzy Holly Days papers! Love the background paper so much – means I don’t even have to use a sentiment (ok, that sounded really lazy….but you know what I mean).

In the set, there are three really cute fun-filled penguins, some great sentiments and a tree too!

Here’s a close-up where you can see that I added some frosted lace Stickles to the “fur” to make it a bit more fluffy:

Craftily yours,

Hi!  Chris here and today I am sharing this adorable card I created using Dare 2B Artzy’s new papers and Stamps!

To create this card I started by matting 2 pieces of the Blissful Bloom paper (the A and B sides) onto dark blue card stock and then attached it to my card base.  I then stamped the Dream Catcher from the Dream Big Stamp Set onto white card stock.  I then used a scalloped circle punch to punch out the dream catcher and matted the scalloped circle on silver scalloped circle and then a dark blue scalloped circle. I added the scalloped circle onto the bottom of the card.

I stamped my greeting from the Dream Big set and double matted the greeting onto the silver and then the blue card stock.  You can see how the tiny bit of silver really makes everything POP!

I finished off the card by adding a silver bow and a white paper flower.  I did use a Tim Holtz Distress Marker to tint the edges of the flower!   I hope you are inspired to get stamping!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!

Kendra here from Luv 2 Scrap N Make Cards to share a fun card with you!!

It is so hard to believe that it is almost the end of October already?!

The views here are absolutely gorgeous with the leaves changing colors!!  I just love it!

So today I am once again featuring the Tangle Leaves stamp set!  Such a lovely stamp set for those fall cards!!

I started by collecting a few supplies:

I used some scrap paper and painters tape to create a rectangle mask across by white cardstock layer.

I used my blending tool to add ink to the masked section in circular motions..

I started with adding Sunset Yellow and then added Bright Pumpkin around the edges!

I then took the masking off as I wanted to add the “Thanks” sentiment and one of the large leaves from the Tangle Leaves stamp set!

As you can see from my photo, I added the sentiment just under the inked rectangle I created!  I also stamped the large leaf so that part of it was outside the rectangle as well.  They were both stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink!

I then used some large post-it notes for masking, so I could then go back and add the smaller leaves in my inked rectangle.

I stamped them in Sunset Yellow, Bright Pumpkin and Pomegranate!

Such a fun technique!!

Here is my finished card:

I just LOVE how it turned out!! The added pearls add a nice touch!

I just love the leaf images in the Tangle Leaves stamp set!!

Just a friendly reminder that you still have time to join in our Fall Challenge!!

Hi crafters! Monica here sharing a card I made using “Flip Flops” which is new release from Dare 2B Artzy.  A super fun set that comes with summer images and fun summer sentiments.

 Easy Summer CArd

I colored the flip flops with colors from the Festive and Tropical ink sets.   Them come in convenient cubes that you can take to crops or scrapovers which is a sleepover lol.

October Fall Challenge

Whoo-hoo! Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m back this week with another card featuring stamps from the Good Witch Shoes set. You know I had to get one more Halloween Card in before the big day which is just about a week and a half away.

Funny thing, whenever I break out this stamp set to make a card I can’t help but think of two things:

1. Hocus Pocus (my favorite Halloween movie). I can totally picture the Sanderson sisters wearing boots like the ones in the Good Witch Shoes stamp set.

2.  The song, “These Boots are made for Walking’” by Nancy Sinatra. The song came out before I was born, but I’ve always really liked it and I find myself humming it every time I use this stamp set. LOL!

Anyhow, on to my card for today…

I started out by cutting down a piece of watercolor cardstock using a circle die. I stamped the boots and Happy Halloween sentiment from the stamp set and heat embossed them with some black embossing powder. I also ran the edge of my die cut circle across my Versamark ink pad so that all the edges had embossing ink on them. Next, I sprinkled the edge with the black embossing powder and heat set it. This gave the edge of my die cut circle a bit of definition.

To color the boots, I used my Zig Clean Color watercolor brush markers and added some color and a bit of water. I ended up adding a couple of layers of color to brighten it up since the color can become diluted with the water.

When my water coloring was dry, I used a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen and went over all of the white areas on the background and gave it the sparkle treatment.

For my background panel, I used a simple sponge blending technique on another piece of watercolor cardstock. I blended 4 colors to create the background, orange, purple, navy blue and just a hint of black. Blending ink on watercolor cardstock takes a bit of effort to get a good blend. It just takes a bit of work to get a smooth blend. When the background was finished, I sprinkled a bit of water on the background to get the spotted, water droplet effect.

I used the bat from the Witches Spell stamp set and once again heat embossed them with some Pewter embossing powder. The Pewter gives the bats a bit of a metallic shimmer.

To finish off the card, I added some purple gemstones to the background panel and adhered the whole thing to a piece of dark navy cardstock with some dimensional foam. I added my circle with the stamp and sentiment to the center of the background with some more dimensional foam.

This was a super quick card today. They would be easy to mass produce and make lots of fun Halloween cards to friends and family.

Be sure to check out the Dare 2B Artzy store to look at their Seasonal stamp line. You’ll find the awesome Halloween stamps I used for today’s card and so much more. There are stamps, dies and festive papers for all of your holiday card making needs.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
I manage arts departments at a local university.  It’s a big stressful job made somewhat easier by a network of long-term friends.  We all help each other out when we can.  One of these fine people really helped me out of a jam the other day, so I made her THIS card to say thanks!
It’s a stress reliever for me to make, and it’s a great way for me to let her know how much I appreciate her.  I used Dare 2B Artzy Modern Bliss Collection paper paired with the Tangle Jumpstart Stamps.  These stamps are so much fun.  You can use them how they come or do what I did and add some extra detail (i.e. I added the lines and dots to the flower).  I also used the Dare 2B Artzy Thanks Die for the sentiment.  I cut it out three times and glued the die cuts together to get some bulk in the sentiment.
The Copics I used were:  Y21, Y23, BG72, BG75, YG03, YG06
After I colored the YGs onto the flower, I used a scrap of washcloth with some colorless blender solution to create some texture on the petal.  Here’s a close-up:
Love that!

Craftily yours,

Hi Chris here!  Today I would like to share a layout I created using the Brand New Dare 2B Artzy Stamps and papers!

To create this layout I started by stamping the Flower from the Blissful Blooms stamp set using the Premium Midnight Blue ink.  I then created the “leaves” by stamping the Paisley from the Paisley Bliss stamp set. I fussy cut both the flowers and the leaves.

I placed the matted photos onto my background which I created using the Modern Bliss papers – Botanical Breeze and Paisley. The thin blue polka dot strip is a bonus “cut away” strip on the Paisley paper.  After adding my stamped flowers and leaves as accents I created my title block using the “Beautiful” stamp from the Big Bloom Stamp set.

Using my scraps I created this coordinating card using the Thinking of You stamp from the Blissful Blooms stamp set.

Hope you are inspired to get stamping!

Hi crafters!  Monica here sharing a card I made for Hurricane Matthew lol.  At the moment the weather here is awful… rainy, windy and dark so I am hoping this card brightens someone’s day!  I used the Big Bloom stamp set to make this black and white card.

I stamped 2 sets of the flowers onto vellum paper using Stazon : Jet Black ink which works beautifully on vellum.  It didn’t smear which was really nice.  I then used some Fabrico markers to add just a touch of color on the leaves of the flower to make the image pop off the page more amongst all the black.

Vellum Stamping

October Fall Challenge

Happy Wednesday Dare 2B Artzy fans! Hope you’re having a great day. I’m so excited because it’s finally starting to feel like fall in Colorado. Today the temp was in the upper 60’s with low 40’s tonight. I think they even have a frost warning out tonight.  I know I’m weird, but that makes me happy. We’ve already had measurable snowfall in our mountains the past couple of weeks. Won’t be long now – it usually snows in Denver before my birthday and that’s a little over 15 days away, so we’ll see.

This week I’m getting in on the fun for this month’s challenge: Fall!

I’ve put together two super quick cards that really allow you to get your hands inky literally.  I started off by cutting a piece of Canson watercolor paper to about an A2 size card which is 4 ¼ x 5 ½. Next, I rifled through my dye inks and pulled out my favorite fall colors and set them aside.

One at a time, I placed the Dare 2B Artzy Tangle Leaves stamps on my MISTI positioning them so that they would be centered on my cardstock. The MISTI also insures a clean stamped image and it would also allow for adding more ink if needed since I was stamping on watercolor paper

I stamped each leaf using my Versamark – stamping a couple of times and then sprinkled with some Lindy’s Stamp Gang embossing powder in Midnight Copper. It’s a really pretty rich, espresso brown color that has a metallic look to it. I just love it!

Once each image was stamped and heat embossed, I set them aside and cleared some space on my craft mat.

I’d seen the very talented Jennifer McGuire use this technique recently, but she used similar colors which you don’t have to worry about colors blending together when they’re all similar shades of the same color. I wanted my leaves to appear more fall like so I chose to use multiple colors using the same technique. Initially I selected 4 colors and then decided they didn’t mix well together as some colors tend to turn muddy when mixed together so I settled on 3 colors instead. I smooshed (love that word) my inks directly onto my Ranger craft mat. I chose green, orange and purple colors for my first card. When I added my inks directly to my mat, I made sure that the colors were separated from each other.

Next, I used some Sheer Shimmer Spray from Tsukineko (say that 3 times fast, lol!). I’d had these sprays lurking around in my craft stash forever. I’d picked them up on clearance at Joann’s for $. 99 for the two travel sized bottles. One was gold and the other was silver. They are very similar to Rangers Perfect Pearls mists or even just making your own shimmer mists with Perfect Pearls powder and water.

I shook up the gold spray really well and sprayed it directly onto the inks I’d smooshed onto my craft mat. I was pretty generous with the spray giving each color of ink 2-3 sprays of the shimmer.

Here comes the fun part. I took my fingers to the lightest color and mixed the color and shimmer spray together. It was pretty cool to see the gold shimmer mixing with the ink color on my craft mat.

If you remember the days of finger painting in elementary school, this next part is a breeze. Starting with the lightest color, I took my fingers and dipped into my now shimmery ink and began blotting it directly on top of my heat embossed image.  Dabbing and blotting and adding more ink when needed. Obviously the more sprays of shimmer spray to ink the wetter your image will look and the closer it will resemble watercolor as more water will make the colors move across your paper more.

For my maple leaf, I didn’t add as much water as I was trying to control it more and have a deeper saturation of color.

I will say that I tried several different colors for the maple leaf and each time I got a bit of a different result. You really just have to experiment to see what works and what doesn’t. I probably made 4 different leaf images just experimenting with the different colors and even different embossing powders to see what I liked best. It’s always fun to play though.

When I was happy with my initial colors that I’d blotted on, I used my heat tool and dried the ink on my paper. At this point, I could have gone in and added a bit more colors in some places, but I chose to stop.

The coolest thing is that when the ink is dried you can really see the gold mixed in with the color. It’s such a great effect.

The second card was just as fun, but I didn’t have to get my fingers all inky. Once again, I smooshed my ink colors to my mat and sprayed them with the gold shimmer spray again. This time I chose purple, orange and yellow colors of dye ink.

I took my other piece of embossed water color paper with the oak leaf and simply laid it face down in the ink/shimmer spray that was pooled on my craft mat. I pressed it to the mat several times to pick up the ink in different areas and sort of mix the colors together.  It creates this awesome watercolor effect and while the water was pooled a bit on my paper I was able to move the paper to direct the ink.

I love the look that this gave my card panel. It kind of reminded me of Easter egg dye.

When both panels were completely dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Tangle Leaves set and heat embossed it with the same Midnight Copper embossing powder.

Each panel was then added to a layer of colored cardstock and adhered to the card base.

These cards were so simple and fun to make. They’re pretty quick as well so it’s easy to make multiples. I even grabbed another piece of water color paper and mopped up the rest of the color/shimmer spray and now I have a nice abstract water color background for another card. I wasn’t about to waste all that shimmery color, lol!

Thanks for stopping by. Make sure you check out all of the awesome new stamps and dies in the Dare 2B Artzy store. It’s a great time to start planning those holiday cards!

Hope you have a crafty day – go get your hand’s inky and celebrate fall!
