Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!
Dare 2B Artzy has so many fun stamps with so many fun styles.  There’s something for everyone!  For my card today, I decided to get super inky using the Dare 2B Artzy, Totally Tracy, Be Bold Stamps!  Here’s what I did:
I love the fun and bright colors!  My niece is graduating high school soon and will be heading off to college.  This card is going to her to congratulate her on making her choice of colleges.  She is a great kid – over 4.0 GPA, cheerleader, track, etc.  So smart.  I’m very proud of her.  To create this card, I cut a watercolor cardstock into two pieces using Spellbinder’s Curved Borders.  Then I used Color Burst inks in orange and yellow on the top and in green and blue on the bottom.  I then stamped that gorgeous flower using Dare 2B Artzy Totally Black Ink (great ink for watercolor or alcohol ink processes) onto another piece of watercolor cardstock.  I used Color Burst inks in pink and purple; then I fussy cut it out.  Here’s a close-up:
I really love the splatter-y effect.  I finished the card off with some seam-binding ribbon, sequins, a button and a twine bow.

Craftily yours,

Happy Wednesday Dare 2B Artzy fans! I’m back today sharing my latest Dare 2B Artzy card creation.

For this project I used the feathers from the Dream Catcher set and paired it with the sentiment from the Tangle Jumpstart set.

I started off my project by die cutting a rectangle that was 6 1/8 x 4 1/8. I used a large Post-it sheet to mask off the left and right edges of the rectangle.

I stamped the 3 different sized feather stamps from the Dream Catcher set with Versamark ink and heat embossed them using some Ultra Fine White embossing powder first. Next I went back and filled in the blank areas again with the 3 different feather stamps, this time embossing them with a champagne colored embossing powder.  In a few places I did just a partial stamped image and heat embossed that for visual interest.

Once my heat embossing in the two colors was done, I grabbed some inks in purple, teal and lime green and used sponge daubers to apply the ink in various places on the masked cardstock. I tried to make sure that I blended the colors and left no white areas.

When I was done inking the masked section, I took a tissue and rubbed the excess ink off the white embossing so it wouldn’t stain it too badly.

Once finished inking, I was able to carefully peel off the Post-it sheet on both sides to reveal a crisp masked section with some bold colors against the white cardstock.

I wanted to add a bit of dimension and shine to the card so I created a circle in MS Word on my computer and filled it with black. I used my laser printer and printed the black circle to a piece of cardstock and used a circle die to cut it out. I touched up a couple of edges with my Minc marker that were creased and resulted in the black ink coming off in the die cutting process.  Finally, I was able to foil the die cut piece in my Minc machine.

I stamped, heat embossed and die cut the two large feathers again this time using a Hematite colored embossing powder. Once finished I colored them with my Copic markers using colors that matched my background.

The sentiment I used is from the Tangle Jumpstart set and it just fit into the white space on my card perfectly. I stamped and heat embossed it with some black embossing powder.

Finally, I placed some dimensional foam on the back of my foiled circle and added it to the card front. On top I layered my two die cut and colored feathers. I tied a little twine with some gold thread in it to the ends of the feathers to give it a finishing touch.

I really enjoyed making this card and sharing it with everyone. Hope it inspires you to try some different masking and heat embossing with your favorite Dare 2B Artzy stamps.

Have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans!!

I don’t know about you, but I love tiny little ink cubes!

D2BA offers their ink in cute little ink cubes!!

I decided to feature one of the sets today with a fun tutorial!

I started by collecting my supplies:

Ink (Tropical Cube Pack and Totally Black)

Stamp(s) (Birthday Balloons and Bright Birthday)

Using a cardstock layer, start by picking out the first color you are going to use, and stamp it on the cardstock as if it was your stamp. (You can trim this piece up later to the size you wish)

Continue till you are happy with your results.

I decided to do each color twice.

Then I stamped the balloons from the Birthday Balloons stamp set!

As well as stamping the pattern inside the balloons, on the above picture you can see I also used a black marker to fill in parts of the design, so that it would stand out more!

Such a super fun and easy technique!!

Here is my finished card:

Fun and different!!

I added the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Bright Birthday stamp set!

As well as the fun polka dot border!  I love that accent stamp!  Add the perfect touch to this card!

Butterfly Tangle Cre8time

Hi crafters! Monica here with a new twist on how to get the most use out of your stamps by using them in a fun creative way.  I took the Butterfly Tangle stamp and used the flower stamp to make a butterfly  with it versus using the actual butterfly stamp in the set.

How to make a Card

Step 1. Stamp your image onto some watercolor paper.  Then use your Kuretake watercolors and color in the stamped image as desired.  I used some red’s and blue’s since Fourth of July is fast approaching.

Step 2.  Take your Butterfly die and die cut each of the petals.  I then cut the top of the flower out as shown in the 2nd photo above.  I then added a button center piece for the body of the butterfly shown in the photo below.

Finally I pieced it all together and added actually what was a hairpin to the bottom for the butterflies tail.

D2BA Fun CArd

Welcome Dare 2B Artzy Fans!!!  Today I have a super cute card to share with you today.

To create this card I started with the D2BA 16204 Bright Birthday Stamp Set.  I started by by stamping the large circle and the “trefoil” images using the D2BA Premium Paradise Ink.  I then stamped the dot circles using the Totally Black Premium ink.  I matted my card on the D2BA Artzy Doodles Papers and athen matted it again on black cardstock.  I created a banner from the Artzy Doodles papers I then stamped my greeting onto black card stock circle with Versamark ink and added Silver embossing powder.  You could easily change the sentiment to create any themed card you like.

Supplies used:

Hi all!  kel from Scraps & photoGRAFFS here to share a super simple card with you today!  This is from the Totally Tracy Be There and Be Square clear set in the Dare 2B Artzy Store.

I stamped the daisy (sunflower? lol I don’t know my flowers very well, do I?!?) and then colored them up with some oranges and yellows and gave them all the same green background.  I matted them on yellow paper and then arranged them diagonally across the card, making sure to rotate them so they all sat a little differently!  The last thing I did was add some epoxy accents and a little sentiment banner across the top!

Craftily yours,

Hello and welcome Dare 2B Artzy fans! I’m excited to be back today sharing my latest card here on Dare 2B Artzy.

For this project I used the Big Bloom stamp set. I really love this flower and it’s perfect for the technique I’m going to showcase with today’s card.

The technique for this card is called white washing. It gives a subtle painted or water color look for stamps on Kraft cardstock.

This technique is excellent for most any type of flower stamp. I started off my card by cutting a piece of Kraft cardstock. I used a cute scalloped die to cut mine.

Next I inked my stamp with some Versamark embossing ink. I stamped it onto the Kraft paper and then used some ultra-fine white embossing powder and heat set it.

To create the white washing I used an aqua brush and some white pigment ink. You can also use a chalk based ink for creating a white washed effect. I let my brush get a bit wet and then rolled it across the white craft ink pad and then painted my stamped image white. The embossed edges of the image keep the ink paint from bleeding outside the lines. You can control the opacity of the image by adding more or less water with the white ink. The trick is to not let your paper get too wet.  In order to keep the paper from getting too wet, it’s best to paint the white on in layers and let it dry in between painting on more white.

Once your satisfied with the level of white washing, let it dry again and then you can start painting on your colors. I used the same technique for the colors, using a wet brush and then dipping in a bit of dye ink color and painting on color over the white washing layer (pigment inks will also work for adding a layer of color). I added color from the center of the flower outwards towards the ends of the petals. Once I’d finished the flower, I added a different color to the leaves. How much color to add is a personal choice.  My end result is a really soft water color effect on the white background.

Once I was happy with the level of color on the Big Bloom, I let it dry completely. I embossed the sentiment Bloom where you are planted with the white ultra-fine embossing powder.

I added a pearl brad to the center of my flower and created a couple of die cut flags and added another floral antique brad to them.

I layered the Kraft cardstock over another piece of teal colored cardstock using some dimensional foam strips. Both layers were added to my final white card base.

Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card. Please be sure to check out all of the other flower stamps in the Dare 2B Artzy shop here as there are many to choose from and they would work beautifully with a white wash technique such as this.

Hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

You know how occasionally you need a card quick?

And don’t have one made up on hand?

I have a super fun tutorial to share with you today!

It’s called “Painter’s Tape Tutorial”!

Start by collecting a few supplies:

Inks – Wild Orchid, Paradise, Sunset Yellow, Margarita Lime, Totally Black

Stamp Set – Celebration Numbers

Painters Tape

Time to have some fun!

This tutorial is so simple and fun!

Start by ripping some pieces of painter’s tape:

I ripped four pieces.

Then press a piece of tape on the ink color of your choice as if it is your “stamp”! (You can use the same ink color each time or use multiple colors)

Then place it on your cardstock, press and then peal off!!

How cool is that?!

Repeat this step to your liking!

I ended up doing the step three times!

Here’s a look:

I then stamped the super cute birthday cake from the Celebration Numbers stamp set!!

Being that my ink colors are a little on the dark side, I took a black marker and filled in a few spots on the stamped numbers and cake image!  To make it look more like a silhouette, to stand out more!

I also stamped two of the sentiments from the set!!

Here’s a look at my finished card:

I love how it turned out!  I created this birthday card for my sister, who recently turned 20!!

The colors are so fun and perfect together!!
